oh great! Yeah is it just me or has no one from any flat media been contacted? I haven't seen any updates about painting or printmaking. Let us know what they say! I'm also waiting on RISD, CalArts, and Rutgers... although I feel like CalArts has already gone out.

hey congrats on your interview at RISD!!!! when did you hear? was it by email? Also I feel like I saw someone had an interview for CalArts focused in painting, does anyone know how/ when then notified and if they're done notifying?

I think hunter will not notify for another week or so... anyone hear from RISD painting yet?

i honestly think those who deserve to get an invite will, regardless of race and few spots. Also, they'll be missing out on 2 tuitions for 2 years if they don't take the normal amount of new 1st years, so who really knows. I think Columbia, like most schools, has a taste in work which may be the main factor. Best of luck to all!

well i hope you guys are right, the fact that we already had 2 confirmed calls for interviews is a little discouraging! I wonder how many applicants they interview. I really would think more people on the forum would have gotten a call, so i guess we'll see. if anyone hears from UCLA or RISD painting lemme knowwwwww

Thanks! What's your guess on what the MFA thing means? someone call and ask if all the interview requests went out already, maybe you need to commit to something in March and want to make sure you're not overlapping. haha ugh, this is really killing me.

my impression was that it was possible if you didn't have an MFA there that you were no longer being considered, but last year this was not the case... i wonder if it has any significance at all! Tuna, I'm just a little unclear on what you think it means. Good luck to you! Third times a charm

so, does anyone at all have MFA anymore in their columbia slideroom? Has anyone gotten an email yet at all? I know some people were called, but I'm wondering if they are also sending out emails this week to those who maybe didn't enter their phone numbers in their apps like idiots (myself)

ugh I just reviewed my Columbia application proof and for some reason I didn't enter a phone number in it. I wonder if any emails for Columbia interviews have gone out yet? Just wishful thinking.

I didn't get a call and all my things are still the same. I don't have any updates in my columbia app and my slideroom still says MFA. I don't know, seems like only 1 person got a call that writes on here so I would assume theres still some calls to be made! Maybe during the week. I briefly searched through some previous forums last night, unfortunately not a lot of people updated how/ when they were contacted. I just noted that some seemed to be on a weekend and they were just told to expect an email later on.

It actually does seem that Columbia notifies painters on the weekend by phone according to previous years, did anyone else get a phone call? I hope they're not done calling!

Wow I had no idea bard only interviews 12 per department. I didn't get an email or call or anything from them today, did anyone else!?

i would guess no news from rutgers is good news... i would assume they have a list of some candidates they're ready to accept and some who they're ready to interview. who knows why! Maybe getting an interview is a good thing as opposed to acceptance too, maybe they are seeing how much funding they want to offer in that case.

yay 1 more thing for me to freak out about. Mine still says MFA in slideroom. When i was reviewing forums a few weeks ago it was really hard to determine if it was actually a thing or not. I feel like i saw people who said they no longer had MFA there with signatures that actually did say they got an interview later. I don't know maybe I'm wrong, I'm trying to look through this forum less and it doesn't seem to be working out for me haha.

Whats taking Bard so long, I really would love the opportunity to work around Amy Sillman and its making me super nervous and anxious. Amy! heh

just my 2 cents on post bacc: post-baccs actually can be a good idea if you think maybe you just need a year of some full-on studio time. the goal is to prepare you for grad school so if you think that kind of opportunity could help you do it, but yeah it is an awful lot of money. If you think you want to wait another year and can work independently and you already have a community for critique... then yeah don't do it. whatever you do- don't go to a program that you're not 100% sure about just because its something to do now. that is the biggest mistake you can make! continued good luck to you all!
