  1. Work with Aaron Hess! He just wrote that book about participatory critical rhetoric with Middleton, Endres, and Senda-Cook. You know how fun it would be to embed yourself within the middle of some community/group destroyed by Monsanto? Would make for a great dissertation!
  2. Chin up, buttercup! Take your advice: "so it's not over til it's over. " :-)
  3. Georgia has released. People in my cohort were accepted. Le sigh on your behalf. :/
  4. YASS! Good for you! Congrats!!! Question about NYU: Is it your opinion that all interview invites went out today? Or...
  5. Thanks, y'all <3 <3 <3 Now pick for me!!! As for academia.edu, here's mine for creepers who aren't posting theirs (#follow): click here
  6. Utah offered me admissions (w/ a 27K fellowship nomination). At a loss for words about what I should do... I do know that I can't hold on to all four of my acceptances right now (USC v. Boulder v. UNC v. Utah). Unless someone has access to a time tuner, then I could be in four places at once and be ayyyyyeeeee okayyyy.
  7. The portals? I have no idea. I haven't been notified on the weekend for any of my MA/PHD programs. They've all come on Monday or Friday afternoons. Oh, with the exception of USC...that came at 6:30 AM on a Monday (which is weird...because I am in NY and that means it CA the system updated at 3:30 AM).
  8. Should we all jump on an academia.edu follow train? Or are we trying to remain anonymous? :-) JUST SAYING THAT I WOULD LIKE MORE FOLLOWERS...
  9. Yes.... What's even worse is that I know that checking it won't make the email appear any faster. ANNNNNNDDDDD...checking the online portals won't either. Hell, I keep checking the portals like some info is going to pop up. With the exception of one school during my masters, I have never learned about admissions via the portal; everyone calls/emails prior to updating the online system (of course, that's not always true...but still...). It'll be over soon :-)
  10. Fans of Anneliese van der Pol, duh. I hear she's making a comeback (or maybe I just want That's So Raven to return to television...).
  11. I bet you money that was fake. Anneliese van der Pol is Chelsea from That's So Raven! If someone got into MCC with that as their research interest, then none of us need to be apart of that program! (Also, I would def. want to read their book lol).
  12. I just committed to a welcome weekend. It was a little difficult to choose, as two of my three schools scheduled their welcome weekends on top of each other. Whatever! I had to make a choice. It feels so weird (but good) to be in the process of investigating rather than praying that someone notices me haha.
  13. How cool!!!! He earned his MA from my undergraduate institution (University of North Texas). I had the opportunity to sit at the same table as him while at Penn State's Camp Rhetoric (didn't talk to him much--I let the other student in my cohort buddy up with him since I knew she would apply). Cool dude for sure!!!
  14. A girl in my cohort was LIKELY accepted to A&M. She won't confirm her acceptance, but I expect she did. It looks like a fun program :-). Matt May, a professor there, is an awesome activist too.
  15. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boom, now UMASS & NCSU will come through and you'll be making a tough decision (or, rather, you'll have options!!!!!).
  16. Last year, a boy in the cohort before mine was waitlisted for funding at Iowa. He ended up getting that money, so I have seen it work out for someone! Best of luck to you :-)
  17. I didn't apply to the program, but I can confirm that others have heard!
  18. I should have read your footer/signature thing. I would have been able to answer my own question about your track
  19. I talked with Bob Hariman this morning and if you didn't get an interview, you're not *necessarily* out, but you basically are toast. I'm in that boat. What branch of communication do you study?
