  1. Hey folks, This is my top choice for a variety of reasons. They are going through several changes it seems, and I'd like to be a part of that change. Seems like theres a new program admin who took things over and ever since she's taken over I've seen tons of changes to the website and marketing efforts ramped up. The only problem is that they previously had on the website that the turnaround for admission info was four weeks. They have since deleted that off the website and now have no date as to when they'll let folks know of their admission. I emailed them about a week ago and haven't gotten a response but I applied January 11th, so I should've heard back by Mid-February at the latest. But... crickets. Anybody else interested in Brown? Is it your top choice as well?
  2. Big congrats to you! You going to accept? How'd you find out?
  3. Great catch, do you have a list of rankings for APSIA schools then? But still international or national, unsure why Georgetown would not be ranked top 10 (or even 5) on any list regarding policy. Then again, I'm not fit to be ranking schools, but feel that list seems a stretch for what I do know and understand.
  4. Hey folks, So I don't want to be all technical distinguishing the difference between public policy/affairs/administration and having them all in separate brackets. My main point is the rankings here doesn't necessarily make all the sense in the world. Georgetown #15? University of Washington #8 (I know people whom graduated from here unemployed or underemployed for more than a year)? Fletcher unranked (thought this was one of the best)? So what do you folks think are the top 10 schools for policy in our country, and of course why? I'd put a strong correlation with employment post graduation %, influence the school has on policy, salaries of alumni post graduation, how many folks work with top consulting firms, top non-profits, and folks who work in policy at the state and federal level. A wide range, but hopefully you get the point. What do you folks think?
  5. Well, I moved from Chicago, a very different city from Seattle which I loved. And I know this may puzzle some, but I'm black, and Seattle probably isn't the best place for black men, you have to deal with a lot of non-sense. But anyways, I decided not to apply mostly because I dont want to be hear another year and also because the school doesn't have the post-grad connections I'm looking for.
  6. You guys know the benefit of applying to UW? I actually live in Seattle, hate the city. Also, I recognized they were mostly geared towards non-profits instead of private or government so I strayed away. What makes you guys very interested in attending the school? Maybe something I dont know. Just curious thanks! And congrats to you folks who got your acceptance.
