It was pretty cool. We talked about logistics, etc. I don’t remember too much since my son was climbing all over me. ? Oh wait I do remember we spoke about waitlists and possibly not knowing for sure if we will be accepted until April (if we are waitlisted) and that they can’t tell us where we are on the list. I believe the admissions committee is meeting this week, so we should be hearing something soon. Europe to NYC is a big move! What are your research interests?

So cool that you were accepted into ASU. I would have applied if I was not stuck in NYC. -

CONGRATULATIONS to all who were accepted! I only applied to John Jay and finished my interviews last week. So I'm waiting on their answer. -

I applied to John Jay's PhD and haven't heard anything yet either. Any idea of how many applicants there were this cycle? -

And PLEASE don't EVER apologize for long rants about interesting research topics. I do this all the time! It shows you love what you do and aren't just talking out of your ass. -

Hey Elm, I've been meaning to write back to you--I've been working on a trial and things are CRAZY. The summation was yesterday so I can breathe now. Your research interests sound so fun! You are going to be great. I have considered POA, thank you for the suggestion. It isn't for me. The CJ program said I would be a better fit for the Psych & Law PhD, because I chose (and already worked with) a psych professor at John Jay. I cannot apply until the next cycle, but like I said I have some pretty cool opportunities coming up so its not SO bad. My ego is a little bruised but I'll get over it. -

Awwwww @phdincrim2016 they will have a second round! I just know I won't be part of it. You have plenty of options still! Thank you for your sympathy, I am sorry you didn't hear back either. -

I'm thankful I was offered such a detailed and warm explanation, rather than a cold rejection. I did have a strong application, it was just a matter of fit (for that particular program, not the school). @Partinrn @1428 Elm St @liesandfish -

You are just the sweetest! Thank you so much for your kind words. The other program had an earlier deadline and is already in the admissions process. I am definitely going through something right now so the positivity helps. @Partinrn I only applied for John Jay. I'm tethered to NYC because of my child. I don't want to be anywhere else anyway. I have a pretty cool job interview coming up soon. I'd be involved in research and criminal justice while making a decent amount of money (and contributing to my pension) so it's not all bad. -

I didn't get in. Not because I am a moron, but because of fit. They suggested one of their other doctoral programs. Good luck everyone, I hate this feeling and wouldn't want anyone else having to feel this way.
