You do have a good point, but over the past four years I've worked with deaf children, kids with ASD, and have also done volunteer work with special needs kids.  It doesn't seem like it's helping much with the app, that's why I feel the need to boost the academic side.

it would probably be cheaper to just do a post bac program and to retake the classes in the major! and a lot of schools accept the people who do post bacs into their own grad programs

Well it's the same amount of money without the assistantship. With the assistantship ODU would be cheaper.

Oh sorry didn't catch that. Well I don't think school ranking has much impact on getting a job so I wouldn't have that as a factor. Maybe just try to asses which place has better externship programs. I know ODU is very child focused (I was accepted there as well but won't be attending)

I'm in the same boat. I've received no email or portal change, and nothing via postal mail. I am in Canada, so postal mail would take longer if they did send something, but I am surprised that I haven't heard anything when I know a lot of other applicants that have been accepted, waitlisted or rejected. Have you contacted them about the status of your application?

No but I want to. I'm not from Canada so I feel like I should have gotten a letter by now...

Although I have no personal experience with this, I do know this happens. Many universities often anticipate it, its sometimes the point of the waitlist? I have had friends who received calls a week before classes began (in August) from schools offering a seat in their program.  Schools try to bind you by typically having a ~$500 non-refundable deposit. But in many cases, this has certainly happened in the past. Especially when it comes down to funding and what not. It would essentially be hard to pass up a schools offer that would leave you less in debt.

Lets all keep our fingers crossed we get into our top choices before so we do not have to cross this bridge!

Yeah, a $500 deposit would be essentially nothing if you could save thousands at a cheaper school that originally waitlisted you..

I don't really know what the open house entails, but it says that directors/professors from their various Master's programs would be there. If you haven't gotten an invite to that yet, you probably will soon. They've emailed me a few times and sent me fliers, haha. I also received an invite to an Admitted Grad Students Mixer when I got my packet in the mail, but that's not until April 13th. That cuts very close to the deadline to commit to a school.

are you highly considering accepting/ do you know the date you have to accept by
