  1. Yeah because I had applied for fall 2015 -- My admission processing took really long and then had to apply for visa as well. Finally about to start. Its ANU Aus
  2. Super excited! Going to have my first commencement day at School and first research discussion with my supervisor... Cant wait
  3. May be you could carefully look into profiles of individuals who receive acceptance from schools where you have applied. Not just one person's academic profile but of majority who receive acceptance -- Even if you don't, just have faith that you will get it. Its highly unlikely that you do not get something in life in which you invest ''continuous'' hard-work.
  4. Thats me! I applied to only one school and that too because my mom asked me to. I know it sounds too unprofessional -- but the end result is good as I made into one of the top 20 schools in the world and Australia's no. 1 -- So I would say, ''High risk high return!''
  5. Just checked this website. A very useful information indeed... Can actually help many prospective students to make decision... Thanks for sharing
  6. LOLZ -- Your DP is serene, tranquil but I feel its a bit sad... Why have you chosen sad DP if you don't mind me asking?
  7. Visa officers primary concerns are if you have sufficient money to cover your living expenses and if you can pay your fee. They feel more than satisfied if they come to know applicant has been awarded fully funded scholarship; which means his fee is already covered for the standard duration of his PhD program with the regular living stipend. However, to make your case strong; you should attach bank statement. This statement should show that your financial capability in your home country is not deteriorating and you are living in good conditions. But this amount does not necessarily need to be higher or equivalent to your fee + living expenses in prospective country since you are already on scholarship. You are just showing to prove that your home-land is already providing you a good life, you are just going abroad for ''higher education'' and does not represent that you wish to permanently stay in a prospective country. Ideally, the amount in the bank statement should be more than or equivalent to ''arrival and departure ticket'' plus enough money to pay initial deposits before opening bank account in a foreign country.
  8. Thank you for sharing this information. I was just wondering that when it comes to award scholarship to international students then obviously they have to be selective. They can ofcourse invite number of applications for self-paid students and the admission process would be easy and quick because of the cash-inflow. But in the case of cash-outflow such as scholarships and funding then normally they fund domestic talent -- This is what I have heard. But then again few people I know have got full scholarships too, the international ones.
  9. You too. Pata nehin hum faqeeroon ko visa kaun dey ga. I am planning k babbay shah k mazaar par jaa k mannat hee maang aao ya phir aur kuch nehin tou jaali-peer k paas chillaa hee kaat loon... visa tou lagay!
  10. Everything's in process... Lets see what happens
  11. I think if your employer/organization comes to know you are applying; you will go through a proper trial and hanged if proven guilty
  12. You people are extremely lucky that despite of having study gaps, you have this confidence of applying at Schools. I belong to a continent where normally visa-authorities do not allow entry to the applicant who has got huge study gaps or gaps of more than 2-3 years.
  13. I think you have started endorsing your achievements Thats great!
  14. If someone gets acceptance at Standford, then please share their profile. My brother thinking of applying there -- His GRE scores are Q160/170 - V162/170 plus a distinction in his recent degree.
  15. Haha I burst out laughing reading this one! This must be a political science program running in the white house!
  16. As per my information, SPS- Interviews in academia known as ''School of Post Graduate Studies'' Interviews. But please confirm this from various sources before you actually trust this information.
  17. Yeah. faith is more powerful than realism, I have to agree with you both.
  18. I got acceptance at ANU and now have applied for visa. Are you from Australia... I believe domestic students can get acceptance quiet easily than international students? Is that true?
  19. Or may be you are a brilliant mind if you get acceptance there.
  20. Just wondering what brilliant minds win scholarships there -- I never could have applied there, out of shiver that there will be severe competition. So just thinking what kind of achievements are considered there.
  21. Has anyone got acceptance email from Harvard -- I'm just curious, what kind of applications make to Harvard...
  22. Sorry to interrupt the conversation you guys having but I respectfully disagree -- Parents are innocent people, no matter at what age you are -- they are always concerned about your future. If they see daily your confused expressions, you're sitting idle, your frustration about your future goals --they just cannot see you like that -- They seriously want to see you successful and so they do things according to their own perceptions of what is better for you.
