Does anyone know how much the cost of attendance for NYU's MSW is per year?

I think it's roughly around $40,000 / year. For 2015-2016, it was just under that a year. The tuition usually increases 5% each year at NYU.

  2. The verdict is in and I have been rejected. Although I should be more disappointed, I expected it due to my lack of experience. Luckily, I've been accepted to NYU and the Univ. of Michigan. I wish PSU would've offered me admission, but this means an extra seat for one of you  ;) Best of luck, guys! Fingers crossed you all get better news.

I'm assuming they're rolling out notifications based on which registration deadline you met? At least I hope so..

I think you're right. They've been sending out letters this week for people who met the December 1 deadline. Rejected or accepted, I'm dying to know.

I'm sure you'll be great! If you're doing advanced standing, it may not matter as much since you're young. I just turned 26 and I studied Communication Disorders and ASL interpreting. I currently work as an employment consultant/caregiver. I'm not sure... I feel like I am probably going to be rejected. Especially since they keep their calls so vague with me

They value experience at PSU. That's what everyone's told me, at least. I think you have a great shot at getting in. You have valuable experience. I called once last week and yesterday (ridiculous, I know) and they're very vague. "We're sending out MSW notifications now, you'll get your decision soon."

One person looked up my application and said "you'll receive a decision by tomorrow." Who knows.

    Holy !!! I wish I could hear... ANYTHING! I have been..dying.

Same here! I haven't heard anything yet. I'm almost positive I'll be rejected or wait-listed, though, considering I'm 22 and lack SW experience. Boo. Good luck, though!

Hi there! I also applied for the 3 year MSW program at PSU, the online one which only takes 40 people per year. Yikes. I'm a newbie here and not sure how it works but today I got an email from the Graduate Housing division that said "Congratulations on your acceptance to the MSW program in the fall of 2016 have you thought about where you're going to live?" It wasn't from the MSW department, Admissions, or the Graduate division so I think it's an error. I checked the online application checker link and it still says "submitted" not "accepted". Emailed the email sender as well as the MSW admissions contact, hopefully will get some info soon.

For what it's worth, I think your experience looks interesting and unique. I think they'll appreciate that. :)

I don't think it's an error. Everyone who's been accepted so far has gotten that email first. If so, congrats!!!! When did you submit your application?

  7. Hey, guys! I just wanted to start a thread for the University of Denver's MSW program. Please post below when you submitted your application, if/when you heard back, and you can include financial aid if you want.

I applied on 1/13 for the advanced standing program. I called Monday and they said my application is under review and that I should hear back sometime this month. Best of luck!

I received my acceptance email a few hours ago & accepting it, as PSU is the only school I applied to. Beyond excited! Good luck to you guys!

So excited for you! That's awesome. By any chance, is there anywhere I can check my application status? I AM DYING TO KNOW, good or bad.

@BrendonSW Thanks for the additional information. I think NYU has thrown their system out the window at this point. I received the "Welcome from the Dean at NYU" email on the last day of January and still nothing. I am expecting some news by the end of this week. I'm curious about something. Do they send out rejection letters via email as well? I remembered reading some schools send out acceptances via email and rejections via snail mail.

I'm sure they're behind based on how many applications they received. But not sure about rejection letters. I'd assume they'd come through email but who knows. Let's not find out. :-)

Have you heard anything?! I spoke with someone about this and they flat out said, "They are just tryin to buy time". I called PSU yesterday and they said I was still in the applicant pool and it'd probably be within the week?

I have a friend who received her acceptance letter on Saturday. I know someone else who received their acceptance letter yesterday. I would expect something this week. I have it in my head that I've been rejected or wait-listed, but there's still hope if someone got accepted yesterday. Also, my friend who was accepted Saturday has until February 12 to commit. Crazy.

  11. I think I might've given some incorrect information earlier in this thread. Whenever you receive the Welcome from the Dean email, you should get an acceptance/rejection letter around a week after that. My letter from the dean came on the 28th, I was accepted the 4th. The introduction to the admissions office email came on the 18th. Good luck!!

Aaah! Okay I literally got an email three minutes ago from PSU housing congratulating me for my admission, and providing some housing information! But I haven't received the email from the office of admissions, I'm so confused! But I'm guessing this most likely means I was admitted! Fingers crossed! I'll post as soon as I receive the official email!

Congrats, if so! I completed my FAFSA 2-3 weeks ago. Any day now.

Nothing here yet either... I received something from PSU's financial aid office saying my application is being processed and I would get award letter in April, but I think they send those out regardless of whether you have been admitted into the program or not. I'm not sure... But I'm really anxious and hoping to hear back soon!

I didn't receive anything like that. The only email I've gotten was one about two weeks saying the decisions were made and turned over to the graduate school. It said I would be hearing back by mid February (I applied for the early deadline).
