  1. I fear I am in the same boat ... I'm holding out hope, though, that they just haven't sent out *all* the notices, acceptances or rejections.
  2. urbanchic - I'll give you some of my M&Ms for some of your popcorn. And I hope the ending is good for both of us!
  3. My writing sample was my MA thesis, but unfortunately, it was simply a write-up of my creation of a website ... which sucked. And I'm applying to a program that has "digital media" in the title. Whoops.
  4. When I applied for my Master's, I got a silent rejection from one of my programs. If you are fairly sure decisions have been made, don't hesitate to email. That's what I did - though I felt bad for the administrator who had to email me a personal rejection - she was much more apologetic than she needed to be. I knew it was a super selective program when I applied.
  5. It's good to hear I'm not the only one that applied to only one school! Unfortunately, unlike the two above, I should be hearing this week ... and I know some acceptance letters have already gone out, so it doesn't look good for me ...
  6. Whew. Thank you. I thought that was the case, but then I was afraid that I was fooling myself. And they might be fake? Who would do that?! That's mean! (My anxiety has hit a fever pitch today!)
  7. Hilarious! Thank you! It's officially added to my Google Reader ...
  8. This made me smile. We have three cats and a dog (waaaaayyyy too many animals, but they are rescues!), and they are quite the distraction! In addition to Milano (the pernicious papillion), Moses (the tuxedo kitty who NEEDS ATTENTION CONSTANTLY), Mustard (the uppity one who likes to drink out of the kitchen sink) and Whitman (who sadly was relegated to outdoors for refusing to use the litterbox), my distractions are: 1. My full-time job, kinda. I have too much downtime to check my email (and GradCafe!), though. 2. My part-time job, teaching at my potential school. If they trust me with their students, don't you think they'll trust me as a student? We'll see ... 3. Pilates with my roommate. 4. Ice cream (to offset the pilates!) 5. Ghost Hunters (my guilty TV pleasure) 6. Etsy.com. It's an addiction that has provided me with a nice distraction. My Plan B is to open my own shop! (Not a great plan, though, since I'm not creative ...) You'd think I wouldn't have time to fret ... you'd be wrong.
  9. HA! I have seriously thought about activating it - but I really can't bring myself to do it!
  10. Hi all! I'm new here! The hardest thing about this whole waiting thing is all the irrelevant emails. I feel like a horrible person, but I don't care about the forward of cute puppies from my mom, or the Google calendar reminders -- even the email saying I'd been registered at GradCafe sent my heart rate through the roof! And I knew it was coming! The worst are the ones from one of my potential schools - I already have a degree from there, and I'm still on a whole bunch of mailing lists. I got one 10 minutes ago, and there is still a lump in my throat! This sucks! Ahem. Thanks for letting me rant.
