Was it this post?
I think that's referring to last year's competition (she probably got off a waitlist or something). If it's a different post then god help meJust now, quiettimes said:This is from last year as she was awarded a 2019-2020 award and we're being considered for the 2020-2021 awards....i think

This makes no sense, especially considering that I'm pretty sure (or at least I'm hoping) nobody in Ontario's received an email yet. This is honestly really frustrating, especially given that NSERC managed to pull this off without a hitch.
Someone from UfT tweeted they won sshrc

The year refers to the year that you begin holding the award, not the year when you apply. Last year’s applicants began receiving funds in the 2019-2020 academic year, so it was considered the 2019-2020 competition. I applied this year and all communications from my awards office have referred to this cycle as the 2020-2021 competition.
Ah, got it. Thanks!

Saw this on FB. Does this mean the results are out since it says 2019-2020?

Is that for MA or doctoral?
I am not sure, tbh. Some of them mention "thesis" so idk if that is referring to MA or PhD
-
I search "sshrc" on Twitter and see that a bunch of people already got notifications of acceptances and rejections.
-
Anyone else realized that they changed some of the order of things to be submitted? like relevant training being separate from the proposal?

This is 2018-2019 though, not 2019-2020 which would be this year's.

I called the Graduate Awards Office at uOttawa and they notified me of my outcome. Perhaps you could do the same. I hope this helps and good luck!
Hey, fellow uOttawa person here. Congrats to you!
Also, did you happen to just call and speak to a random person or a specific person?
I emailed yesterday and was told that they don’t have the results yet. Wondering if I should call someone specific tomorrow.

So, what did your first year of PhD look like? If you could share your experience for those of us who are about to start ours very soon, that would be great!
Is it a lot of coursework? Reading? Extra research? Meetings with supervisor?

I love this thread

This probably depends on school, but since I'm not starting my doctoral program until September, I was wondering if the PhD programs allow its students to take courses abroad? Say in the summer if I want to take a few courses outside of state, and have them count towards my degree? I'm in Canada btw, and will be starting in Ottawa this Fall.

Got an acceptance from McMaster's MA program with full funding, but will be declining.
-
Got into the MA program. Plan on visiting for the morning portion.
-
Anyone else accepted into the UofT MA program? Wondering about funding.

Anyone applied to Ottawa?

That's me with the McMaster PhD acceptance.
Congrats! I applied to their MA, and still waiting.

Wtf Boston

Welp, it's a no from University of Toronto.

I spent around $700. To the people spending over $1000, where are yall getting the money from ? I guess it's more expensive for me, since I'm paying in Canadian $, and the exchange rate just sucks!
