  1. Accidentally hid my old post--hope this is helpful to folks in the future! Program Applied To: MPP/MA/MPA Schools Applied To: HKS, Yale, WWS, Georgetown (SSP), SAIS Schools Admitted To: Yale (full funding + stipend), SAIS (20K fellowship), Georgetown (50% fellowship) Schools Rejected From: WWS Still Waiting: HKS (but removed myself from the waitlist) Undergraduate institution: Top Public School Undergraduate GPA: 3.90 Undergraduate Major: Double in Foreign Affairs & Political Philosophy, Policy, and Law GRE Quantitative Score: 162 GRE Verbal Score: 168 GRE AW Score: 6.0 Years Out of Undergrad (if applicable): 2 Years of Work Experience: 2 Describe Relevant Work Experience: Two years at the Department of Justice, working on data analysis, courtroom litigation support, policy writing. I worked specifically in health care fraud and securities fraud. Strength of SOP (be honest, describe the process, etc): I felt good about them--several drafts later, I ended up with a discussion of how my interest in international security paralleled my interest in theater--both require you to keep one foot in reality, and continually say "yes" to every opportunity. Strength of LOR's (be honest, describe the process, etc): The two I read were strong (my boss at DOJ and a law professor/mentor), and the other I felt good about as well (State Director for a Senator I interned for). Final thoughts: Yale was my top choice, and it's where I'll be attending. The process was incredibly stressful, and I wasn't sure how the results would shake out, but I was incredibly lucky. Best wishes to everyone!
  2. Hopefully, since Georgetown is nowhere close to any metro station, we will be in luck and there will be no delay!
  3. For what it's worth (I'm definitely headed to Jackson given my visit there and funding), the lack of network/IR classes that y'all mention above isn't the same impression I got. But I want to flag my own bias, since I'm amping myself up to go to Yale, and I turned down a bunch of other options to do so. While the Senior Fellows and professors like Gaddis don't teach as many classes, they host students at their homes every week, and come to know them incredibly well. Similarly, by virtue of the flexibility of the program, you're not simply getting the network of the Jackson School--you're getting the network of every professor at Yale, including those in the law school, politics doctorate programs, and much more. All of the students I've spoken to have had no trouble getting involved in their field of choice right away, partially because each class is so small that they work together to ensure the correct person is nominated for individual fellowships and awards, and because each Senior Fellow and professor know the Jackson students so well that they can invest a great deal of time calling their contacts around the world. Anecdotally, one Jackson student that I spoke to mentioned that he had always wanted to work in the Treasury Department--the Jackson Senior Fellows introduced him to a professor who, after one conversation, called a former National Security Council "friend", and he had a job for the summer between his years of study, and an offer to continue afterwards. Additionally, the IR classes are actually plentiful, since there are so many politics classes outside of Jackson--at least they were when I looked at the course offerings. It may be worth looking over one of those! I'm sure either program will be fabulous, and you will be happy wherever you go--we're splitting atoms here! But I wanted to make sure you knew that the network of the Jackson Institute appears to be the network of Yale, which has some significant clout around the world. Good luck to everyone in making their choices--I weirdly think it always works out how it's supposed to!
  4. Taking myself off the waitlist to attend Yale--best of luck to everyone!
  5. Mine just came through too! Must be in waves.
  6. Accepted! Funding info apparently coming later today, like in previous years.
  7. Happy to answer offline--I'll send you a message!
  8. Mine is up--I got full tuition and a stipend for living, so I will DEFINITELY be in New Haven next year!! Hope to see y'all there!
  9. Same...maybe it's them receiving the letter from Jackson, and prepping an upload?
  10. Sounds like financial information will be included in our acceptance letter. That might be part of the delay in the delivery through the portal, at least according to the student that I spoke to!
  11. I replied! Have not heard back from Cristin Siebert, but didn't expect to--I just wanted to thank her for the good news! I'll let you know what I learn from the current student. Perhaps more relevantly, I called GSAS admissions, and apparently their only advice is "it's coming" and the letter should be up by Friday on the portal. Hope this is helpful!!
  12. I got a call from a student--he and I are speaking this afternoon.
  13. Agree with @6speed!--some of the accepted are also international and/or MPP folks, so there is really no saying what their system may be.
  14. Do you mean text as in the application checklist?
  15. There's nothing on the portal for me either--my email came from the head of admissions. There may be some sort of delay in the upload to the GSAS site?
