  1. Tabbatha sent an email last week that she will be out of the office until July 18th.
  2. I received my offer on March 21st and had 21 days to accept or decline.
  3. Choosing between two excellent schools is a good decision to have to make I don't think that you could have made a bad decision here. I recently had to decide between two programs and received some advice that was very helpful: you'll never know what your life would have been if you had chosen the other one. Congratulations on being accepted to two excellent schools and best of luck in the future!
  4. If you're absolutely certain that this is something that you don't want to do, then decline. Nobody can force you to go. I've heard that in several cases, students will accept their offer of admission to one school while waiting to get a response from another school they've applied to, and will then rescind their initial acceptance for the second school once they hear from them. I've never heard of any consequences of declining an offer after accepting (circumstances change, after all), but I'm certainly not an expert. I would recommend trying to talk to some of your professors to see what they think.
  5. Hi there, most of the graduate school applications that I filled out had a section for outlining any extenuating circumstances during your undergrad that you would like the admissions committee to take into consideration. There's also likely going to be more focus on your final two years. I would say that if this is something you're really passionate about pursuing - don't give up! Although grades constitute a good chunk of your application, other things will be considered too, such as your statement of intent, reference letters, and extracurricular involvement. Speak with an academic counsellor and/or professors at your school to get their opinion and advice. I will be heading to NPSIA next year but I also got into BSIA (I didn't apply to Munk). If you have any questions, feel free to message me - I am happy to help if I can!
  6. I'm not deciding between the two, but I did get accepted to MAGG and had to decide between that program and NPSIA, which is more professionally-oriented like MIPP. Ultimately I think you just have to decide what kind of experience you want. The MAGG program is more academically and research oriented, whereas the MIPP program will likely give you more practical skills. Would you be interested in possibly pursuing a PhD one day? How soon would you like to enter the workforce? MIPP is a shorter program. How interested would you be in doing an internship? MAGG incorporates an internship as part of the program, whereas MIPP doesn't. Either way, I think you'll be in a good program with good prospects for jobs following graduation. You can't go wrong!
  7. Did anyone apply for a SSHRC CGS-M award and get one?
  8. I'm not sure, to be honest! The letter didn't say anything about it, I just assumed. So maybe not? I got an extension on the deadline so I haven't accepted or declined yet!
  9. Do you think they might do it alphabetically again? Are you near the beginning of the alphabet?
  10. This is independent of OGS right? Just to confirm.
  11. Don't worry too much about the status on the NPSIA site. I heard that I was in from Tabbitha yesterday, but my status hasn't changed. It won't change until an official offer comes in 5-10 business days. Did you apply to MAGG or MIPP at Balsillie?
  12. I totally get it. I'm going to have to decide between Balsillie and NPSIA and I don't think I'll have all of the NPSIA info before I have to accept or decline Balsillie. I've already concluded I'm going to have to pay the deposit for Balsillie and then potentially lose it depending on what I decide... It really sucks that the deadlines are so spread out. I'm sure they'll get back to you soon! I've got my fingers crossed for you
  13. Don't worry yet! Tabbatha only said in her Friday email that they would begin to let us know today. They probably won't get through everyone in one day. I know that the wait is stressful though!
