Please mention my name in your application so that it is sent to my desk." I applied Is it okay if I mail asking questions at this time during Admission evaluation? How can I impress potential POI? 1. Review the papers. 2. Work on probable similar projects? 3. Learn software programming skills? 4. Asking about what skills I should acquire?

My supervisor usually gives bad LOR. Many of his students faced the same problem (department confirmed). So I will collect LOR from other Profs. Is there any way you think, I can avert the negative LOR/ absence of advisor LOR through SOP? Or should I remain silent about it? Can I explain in my SOP? My sentence in SOP ( paraphrased) My desire for groundbreaking research inspired me to search for the best research group, though my supervisor asked me to join his group as a Ph.D. student. Professor really asked me..... Would appreciate your input.

The problem is I asked some question (note) already in my first mail. Also sent my CV. Oh GOD I need help.....

Yes I agree. But also heard that it increase your chances if you got noticed by certain Faculty . And if any case they recommend it gets really easy. Managing recommendations is bottleneck for me. And surly money another. Thank You for your reply though.

I would encourage you to apply to our department’s program and I will be happy discussing further with you once you are accepted. Professor 2 thanks for your note. I urge you to apply to our phd program. If you are admitted I will be very happy to discuss research possibilities. Are they indicating RA. Is this positive reply? What should I do next beside thanking them? How to start a conversation? Should I ask them about any tip for SOP? Should I ask more question?  Freaking outtt Thanks
