Hi there! I'm enjoying the part-time program, given that I'm also actively involved in the MSW organization within the department. Basically your first year you take 3 classes; both fall and spring semesters and 2 in the summer. You do internships in years 2 and 3. 1st year internship hours are 488 for the year, then 540 for the 2nd internship, totaling of 1028 hours. I'm finishing up my 2nd year, after this semester, I have 2 last graded courses then just focus on my thesis and 2nd internship in year 3. Your first year you are just taking your foundation year classes, they are manageable. There has been a disconnect between the 2 year full time cohorts with 3 year part time cohorts however the cohesion has been improved. However each cohort has their own friendly and supportive culture. When you get placed for your first internship (foundation), you just fill out an application where you put your details on what population you want to work with, your skills, strengths, etc. Then you get reffered by faculty for interviews. For 2nd year placement (Concentration) you pick 2 agencies and you interview with both and then you get matched depending if both the agency and you want to work together. Let me know if you have any other questions, reach out.

I applied to 3 year programs to CSULA and CSUSB (which I got rejected from) and I'm still waiting to hear from CSUDH, I also applied to USC's online program. The wait is drivng me crazy! there was an error on my CSUDH where one of my reference letters wasant submitted. Long story short, i was able to submit the missing document a month after the deadline and have been waiting for about a month to hear from them. Are 3 years hard to get into? im beginning to lose hope. I guess if this year doesnt work out then ill reapply to 2 years for next year. :/ -
Are they are hard to get into like they say?

So I had a situtation where I had not gotten a response from CSU-Dominguez Hills about the MSW application I submitted back in November. I called last week only to find out that it wasant reviewed because it was "incomplete". My 3rd reference forgot to submitted a letter of recommendation. I wasant being notified because the lasy mistyped my email. Really?! Long story short, I fought for that letter and I was able to submit it and now my application is being reviewed. I wouldnt know of my admissions status 1-3 months, maybe sooner. The admissions coordinator was really sweet and had said i lucked out. I met her in person. The other lady said I would probably get an email that same day about my GPA verification. Didnt know CSUDH did this? But i havent heard anything since. Should i freak out again? Half of me is paranoid yet the other half says this is a sign and a yes but who knows. Thoughts?

Thanks! So I figured out issue. one of my references did not put in the letter of recommendation. I was sent an email in November according to admissions but it turns out that they did not type in my email correctly so I was nt properly notified. I spoke with the admissions coordinator and she is allowing me to retrievethat last letter and turn it in even its past the deadline. Im going to turn it in tomorrow. They are really nice! I hope that this is a good sign for me.

Congratulations! I submitted the application packet like 3 days before you and I still have no response. I think this is a bad sign. Im really worried

Hi Guys! I was wondering if you guys could give me feedback on CSU-Dominguez Hills. I applied to 3 Cal State for the MSW (Master of Social Work Program) being CSULA, CSUDH, and CSUSB. I got my rejection letter from CSULA on Friday. I was so sure I had my foot in the door there cause I completed my BSW there but it wasan't the case. I'm currently very discouraged yet paranoid! How hard is it to be admitted to CSUDH? these are my stats: CSULA BSW (Bachelor of Social Work) graduate 3.1 cummulative GPA from last 90 quarter/ 60 semester units 1.75 of experience in this field. (After school teaching/ mental health group homes) I applied early October and submitted my full supplemental application on November 20th. Idk if I should take this long wait period as a good or bad sign.
