Congrats on all the great acceptances guys! This is a weird piece of info that I found out from experience that I think would be interesting to share for future applicants. I learned that adcoms sometimes read applications from the online database before they are completed. I cannot share more info for privacy's sake. So be careful what you upload because they do review before submission! I think this can also work in your favor if you get in your recommendations ASAP.

I'm hoping Yale will say something soon. My advisor hinted that Irvine may release information Fri. I have most likely been rejected/wait list from Upenn (was on the border apparently) and Stanford. For those wondering about Upenn, they accepted 15 people in Organic this year. If I don't hear from schools by next Friday, I will mentally prepare for waitlist/reject and will focus on the admits!

Thank you cabraloca!! I am very excited, however I still want to hear back from a couple of schools (Stanford, Yale, U Wisconsin Madison). Now if only I can get this new reaction to work better..lol. Good luck to you!

Hey guys, I've received the unofficial letter from the University of Michigan Department of Chemistry. It states that the offer will be official upon certification by the Graduate school. Deadline to sign up for visiting days is Feb 3rd.

Hi, I recently received an unofficial acceptance from a POI at UMich and they stated that official emails will be sent Friday or the beginning of next week.

@matsguy University of Michigan will be sending out more acceptances tomorrow or Tuesday.

Hey guys, my status changed for UCI to "being reviewed." Based on past years (and this year!), it seems that means a decision will come out soon. Some decisions will come out Friday (not Princeton - that is next week).

UPenn has already started to give offers. My advisor got a call from UPenn last week inquiring about something.

Admitted to University North Carolina Chapel Hill. Received an email directing me to check the status on the online portal. Thanks @cabraloca for the additional confirmation about the Wisconsin status. I'll definitely keep you guys updated!

Thanks @OChemist for that personal and motivational anecdote about your father..it really resonated with me. This time is undoubtedly a transition period for all of us (in varying ways, of course)! I'm almost certain that I will not get an offer from the school, but in retrospect it is best to devote energy towards the places that are willing to unequivocally embrace us joining the department.

Mine says the same thing..except the date is changed to 12/14 (the date I submitted the application)

Hey guys, I just wanted to get something off my chest..I don't really know of anybody going through the application process right now IRL because I am kind of non-traditional, so I just wanted to vent here. I switched masters advisors a couple of times and have gone through a lot of hell and depression throughout the years. The first time was because my advisor left me and there was no way I could go with him. He pretty much told everyone except me and then told me when it was too late for me to leave with him. That experience has really kept with me and I have some internal issues from it that I am still working through. The second time was a combination between bad research fit and him being emotionally abusive (telling me that I could not do research..even though I can, etc..). I made the hard decision to switch to my great advisor now that has been a godsend. I worked extremely hard over the past year and was able to publish in a short amount of time, and I'm super thankful of being able to continue on and complete my PhD at some great institutions. However, I received notice that a particular school was wary because I had changed advisors so much. I am extremely upset, because I feel like that in a way negates the hard work that I've put in with my current advisor and it gives my past toxic advisors the strength to completely define me as a student. *sigh* I know that I should not let this upset me, and I should be writing my thesis right now, but it really has me contemplating a lot of things.
