Congrats Herbert West! So, I just found out that a publication that I submitted in December got accepted. I'm wondering what are you guys's thoughts about updating the schools. I don't want to cause them any more stress because I know they are super busy with applications. Also, I'm not sure that it will have any effect on the decision since the files have probably already been reviewed.

Hi @MoChick I sent my fall grades to a couple of schools, but not all. The schools let me send an email with an unofficial copy of the updated grades.

I know that some professors actually view computational background as an advantage. A couple years ago, Dr. Zhang was looking to increase his utilization of computation, but I'm not sure what his perspective is now. I'm interested to see the path that Princeton's Chemistry Department goes in the next couple of years. One thing that has stood out about Wisconsin Madison was the honest feedback and help that they provided during the application process. The admissions secretary is very nice and really went out of her way to answer a lot of questions I had back in March. I hope we can meet during visiting days!

Hey @sk8er determinant I'm super interested in Abigail Doyles C-H functionalization research. I attended a talk given by one of her students in San Diego and was excited about the potential expansion of her research. David mcmillan is a second interest, but I am not sure the lab would be a perfect fit for non-chem related reasons. At Wisc, I am mainly interested in Jen Schomakers chemistry. She has developed some interesting selective functionalization reactions using silver (even though she hasn't fully elucidated the basis for the selectivity). Shannon stahl is a second interest. Im so sad they lost ron raines..I really wanted to meet him.

I forgot to mention that I received an email acceptance to Purdue on the 23rd. I applied Dec 10th - 12th in that timeframe.

My offer letter notes the deadline as 4/15. It would be odd for the deadline to be 1/15 because the visiting days are in February and March

Yes, that was most likely the issue. It worked well for me when I visited the interface on my laptop. Enjoy your holiday break guys!

Thanks KR! I applied Nov 30-Dec 1st. A little late. I am domestic, though. I think it's still so early. I am so confused by Irvine..it was one of my top choices at the beginning, but I have not heard anything.

I also received an invite from Scripps (La Jolla). Looking forward to meeting everyone in the Department

Yay! Did they give you the dates for the weekend? The professor I spoke to said that he didn't know the dates. I've never been to Los Angeles so I'm excited to visit and meet everyone

Also, I wasn't able to complete the video in the regular application either. I wrote a nice script for it and tried it multiple times with IE, Chrome, and Firefox and it just kept lagging and not recording. I was in the lab on my University's wifi and I have a fast computer, so I don't know what went wrong.

@AnaChem321 I am also curious! Also, if you were accepted how did they notify you? I'm praying and waiting in anticipation for Scripps...
