  1. Awesome!! I did my Masters at Duke and took few classes at UNC and enjoyed it Good luck!
  2. Yes she was very helpful! Curious where your #1 choice is?
  3. Hi MoMoTodoroki, I've spoken to Jospeh Turow and Jessa Lingel. How about you?
  4. Agree! Also you could reach out to the grad coordinators of the program and explain your situation. They may understand that due to Covid19 that LOR is out of your control and give you more time to submit a new LOR? Good Luck!
  5. Sounds awesome!! I've been to Mumbai once on a business trip last year and I thought it was a fascinating city. Yeah I contacted one of the faculty at Tisch too but her response was rather generic and was told that they only accept 3-4 PhD students every year. So not sure if I have a chance given the prolonged pandemic will see an uptick in applications this cycle. My topic is interdisciplinary as well! Rather than focusing on certain national cinema, I am interested in exploring how the global IT companies have changed the mode of production and distribution of media and its influence in Asian American diaspora. Hope all of us in this thread can get accepted into their desired programs! Good luck!
  6. Hi ShivD! Curious why you applied to NYU MCC instead of Tisch? Looks like we have overlap of Northwestern & UC-Berkeley. Good Luck!
  7. lol same... but don't decisions won't be made until mid Feb for most programs? No point of checking emails daily now.
  8. Thank you! I actually did my undergrad at UW Madison Comm Arts department so I know few professors there but I didn't think they did the type of research I am interested in. Also UW Madison Comm Arts program isn't fully funded right? (correct me if I am wrong)
  9. Curious what are ya'll plans until Feb/March when the decisions roll out?
  10. I am not sure about USC but I was told by Penn they don't do interviews but will have a virtual campus tour for admitted students. Good luck!
  11. I think we have somewhat similar research interest! I also thought about applying to few Information Studies PhD program but in the end decided not to...(already have certificate in Information Science+Studies from my Master's program) Have you looked into UW-Madison's iSchool? I saw their ad saying they fully fund PhD students but when I looked at their faculty bio none of them had similar interests as me. Curious if you reached out to anyone at Penn Anneberg before applying? Good luck!
  12. Glad to see this thread open for Fall 2021! 14. Hi folks, Did anyone apply to the University of Washington-Seattle DXARTS for Fall 2019? Any interviews done so far? I haven't heard back from them yet and since it's getting closer to April does that mean I'm waitlisted or rejected?
  15. Hi Sandeep P, I emailed the admissions and they notified me that I'm on the waitlist. Hoping to get off soon!
  16. Just got a reply from Duke! they will start rolling out decisions from now until April 15th! Ted says they don't do interviews for MFA EDA program. good luck everyone

  18. Thanks Cho333! I still haven't heard anything from Northwestern yet... So a little bit anxious. Gradstatus says decisions will begin to roll out end of March/Early April so I'm hoping I will still have a shot! Hope you hear back from them soon too!
  19. Hi Cho333, I also applied to Northwestern & Duke and haven't heard anything from them yet. Can I ask how your interview went with Northwestern? How long was it? What questions did they ask you? Thanks!
