  1. Yes, I can confirm this. This was the experience of everyone last year, and I just received the full award details about 15-20 days after it originally switched to Funding
  2. Can I ask-- did you receive the award letter via email, regular mail, or in the DAAD Portal?
  3. I have heard nothing, but I will be sure to announce here as soon as I do
  4. My status switched from "Selection Made" to "Funding" sometime recently as well. Intensive Language Grant. I also now see a "Declaration of Acceptance" menu in the portal on the left side (under Application and Funding Review) but have not received a notification, message, or document either on the portal nor on email. best of luck all
  5. Yes I do mean Intensive Language Course. Details on the app are the same here.
  6. Any updates from anyone applying for the language grant? I am now Selection Made.
  7. Hello all, I posted this to last year's thread (before I realized there was a new one). I am a DAAD-IntensiveLanguage-loser from last cycle, looking into applying again. I found this note on their website, stating that "An applicant may only be considered once in any three consecutive years for a DAAD Intensive Language Course or University Summer Course Grant." (click over to Application Requirements). This seems to imply that if you applied for a DAAD Intensive Language stipend, then you cannot apply again for three years. Is this correct? I only ask because I remember speaking with people in the last thread that won last year but had been rejected in years past. Is it a requirement I can ignore, or maybe, more likely, do they mean to apply this only to people who won the grant? Thanks!
  8. Hey Horb,

I posted this message on the thread you started for last year's DAAD cycle, but I thought I might forward it to you directly, since your experiences were so helpful in my (ultimately failed) efforts to get the Intensive Language Course grant last year.

I am looking to apply again and found this note on their website, stating that "An applicant may only be considered once in any three consecutive years for a DAAD Intensive Language Course or University Summer Course Grant." (click over to Application Requirements).

This seems to imply that if you applied for a DAAD Intensive Language stipend, then you cannot apply again for three years. Am I reading this wrong (so much on the DAAD site is awkwardly phrased)? Is it a requirement I can ignore, or maybe, more likely, do they mean to apply this only to people who won the grant? Was this requirement in place in years past? I do not remember it, and it seems like you applied multiple years in a row

Hope all is well with you and your pursuits.

  10. I did hear back from Uta last week. She told me that I was not on the list of acceptances, but she did not say when the acceptances would be notified, but they would be coming out in a few days (so, if that was accurate when she said it, theyve already been notified). The wait is coming from Bonn, as was said above. Cheers to all winners!
  11. I have just emailed Uta asking her to confirm whether all acceptances for Intensive Language have now been notified. Will let you know what she says. (still waiting, Intensive Language, DAAD NY)
  12. So, we have no evidence yet that all the acceptances weren't released at once? No one has gotten accepted after that first group? (I mean this for Intensive Language) I haven't called yet NY yet, but I might this afternoon. Let us know what Bonn says.
  13. Would there be any point to calling the DAAD NY office to ask if all acceptances for intensive language have been sent out? It's (212) 758-3223. I tried calling today but the line was busy. Uta Gaedeke is in charge of Intensive Language, so one might try calling her name in the directory. (Oh, and I applied to Intensive Language to the NY office, still selection made. If it helps for our machinations: I am at the end of the alphabet, applying from the midwest.)
  14. Mine says selection made still as well, also US. Good luck to us. Congrats to Gibery.
  15. I'd be happy to create a fake twitter and ask anonymously, if you think they'd answer. Which handle should we ask? probably DAAD North America, right? I'm looking for an answer for Intensive Language as well. Still "selection made." W&P
