  1. I should have known better. Fingers crossed for Tuesday I guess!
  2. At least Monday isnt a stat holiday, I'm sure we'll get it on Monday! As for calling, I thought someone already did?
  3. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  4. Oh my gosh!!!! yay!
  5. yeah my blood pressure is through the roof. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend, finally!
  6. I feel like I read somewhere that they don't... but I can't remember where! I highly doubt they would.
  7. I was just checking research net (because WHO KNOWS MAYBE THEY POSTED THE RESULTS... they didn't), and it says " Anticipated Notice of Decision 2018-03-30" I found this when I clicked on "View Funding Opportunity Details" So I guess that kind of confirms what we were saying?? Still secretly holding out for the 29th Edit: Clearly I'm delirious.. I see that @PsychBoy has already posted this information! Whoops.
  8. We can do it!
  9. Almost in the single digits!
  10. You can list them on your CCV!
  11. No there's not
  12. How did you list manuscripts that you're working on? I kept trying to find a way to work them in but had a hard time. I'm curious to know for next year anyways!
  13. They did a panel at U of A and one of the previous winners said he had no publications and won (SSHRC)! So there's hope. Plus that's an average, AND that's only 30% of your score.
  14. Also I almost spit out my coffee when I saw that SSHRC winners had 2 book chapters. WHAT EVEN
  15. My thoughts exactly! But I think they take into consideration what field you're in and whether or not you're ahead of the game within that context.
  16. For those interested, I found this info on Waterloo's website on stats from previous Vanier Scholars at their University. Gives a good ballpark of # of publications https://uwaterloo.ca/graduate-studies/awardsandfunding/external-awards/vanier-canada-graduate-scholarships-vanier-cgs Wish I had seen this when I was applying this year!
  17. Thank you so much!
  18. My heart can't handle it any longer!
  19. Has anyone emailed them to see if it will still be March 30th? That's actually Good Friday, a stat holiday, so I was wondering if they would send it on the 29th or wait until April 2 (because the Monday is Easter Monday :/)
  20. @PsychBoy mine updated too! congrats!
  21. @PsychBoy I found out last week that I was being forwarded under NSERC and submitted my finalized application yesterday. Today I looked on research net and it says "Approved by Research Institution". After Nov 1 I feel like everyone's research net status should be updated...?
  22. Honestly, I just started emailing profs asking if they needed volunteers. I know it seems competitive and intimidating to get into but most professors are very willing to take on students. Look up professors on your department's website and email the ones you find interesting. I bet that your school offers some kind of research experience course that you could gain experience while earning university credit. Those are the best because then those professors can serve as an academic reference for you too!
