I got my acceptance letter late in the summer while I was in another state working. I didn't have time to look into apartments and filled out an application to live in an apartment-style dorm on campus (graduate housing was "full" and I was placed on a waiting list). Luckily, I was able to transfer to graduate housing in the middle of the semester and from there I was able to look into places off campus via Craigslist.

@Courtney Whited @nervous_nellie I currently live in Stillwater. I am doing my Master's and have been here since 2015. It's a "little big town" meaning that there are a variety of places to shop, eat, and hang out at but if you want more, then traveling to Oklahoma City or Tulsa are options. OKSTATE has a lot of different people coming from all kinds of backgrounds, so you definitely will find a good number of people who will share similar interests or personality traits as you. The locals are OK as well. Cost of living: I currently rent in the $500 range but there are decent places under decent (and some good) property managers you can rent for in the $300 to $400 range. A lot of options too, even with jobs! All the best with your decisions!

I see Murakami fans, awesome! I used to be a book worm in junior and high school but no longer consider myself one these days. After watching a Japanese drama (Algernon ni Hanataba o) with a very popular actor (Yamashita Tomohisa aka Yamapi), I went to the local library (which is just a 5 minute walk from my apartment (cool!) and because the school's library did not have the book (not cool) ), I signed up for a library card to check out Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. Interesting story that's making me feel feels again (as if the drama did not do that already)

Hi there, I live in Stillwater and this is my 2nd semester in my program (working towards Master's). Currently, I live in family and graduate housing by myself so I am paying $675 (it's an unfurnished apt by the way). If I had a roommate, I would be paying half the rent. If you are interested, it would be best to have a roommate. The furnished apartments are a bit higher, in the 700-800 range. Staying here is good because the rent includes everything. Only downfall is that you have to pay $101 every month to use your air unit. I will be moving out at the end of May and currently I am doing my searches on Craigslist and there is a lot available. I even met with a few managers that have posted their listings on there and will be meeting another tomorrow.
