I applied to 6 schools in Canada and the US. By the time I paid all the fees and took the GRE I was out about 800 dollars. It was my first time looking at grad school and i found that the application process helped me refine what I want to do.

I live just south of Kensington, on Augusta. I found my place on the UofT housing website in August two years ago. So you can find places right up to the month before you want to move in...

I dunno about in the States, but in Canada, the loan repayment rules change frequently. It seems risky to have your plans 10 years in the future dependent on a current rule.

I accepted Harvard's MTS offer today.
-
So assuming foks decide to go, is anyone really interesting in living together? http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/fee/1662084463.html
-
So how are you going to decide?
-
Serious congrats are in order.

I'm still waffling between Harvard and UofT. I'm going to Boston on Sunday to visit!
-
I'm sorry to have added to the waiting turmoil! A friend of mine in the MA program said that the process is different then it was last year, for whatever it's worth.
-
haha, yes, I got an extension.

I can't attend the April 6th event, but I am going to try and get down there the week of the 30th. If I do accept, I would love to live with some folks, since I will be trying to live as frugally as possible.

That's really weird. I actually applied to a couple other American schools that I still haven't heard from. Now, I didn't really think I'd get in down there because of my awful GRE scores so I was amazed about Harvard, and I'm still feeling kinda rushed.

I called them today to ask about that deadline. It seems rather short considering the fact that I only received my official letter yesterday. I have no idea what I'm going to do, but I suppose I might have to decide soon.
-
It seems to depend on the school here? Laurier has a minimum guaranteed amount of funding for all MA students, while UofT, as you probably know, makes no promises about anything. I'm not quite sure I could live off of Laurier's offer-- so maybe you are lucky

So do you have any thoughts on the MTS/MA divide? I am well aware of the seminary/religion department divide at UofT. I assume that it holds true elsewhere.
-
I was also accepted to Wilfred Laurier's Religion and Culture program. Not the most well-known school, but they focus on contemporary issues and ethnographic approaches, which is what I want to do. My proposed work is about evangelical, Christian inner-city missions and religious diversity. What do you do johndiligent? Congrats on all the choices, btw.

Hello, I am curious whether there are any other Canadians thinking of attending American divinity schools. I have been accepted to two excellent Canadian schools for an MA in religion, however, last week I got accepted to the MTS program at Harvard Div. I never even contemplated what i would do if I were faced with this decision because I didn't think I'd get in. Do you folks have any thoughts?
-
Holy cow, I got into Harvard's MTS.
-
Do ya'll think the Harvard decisions will be out soon?
-
I got an email from the admin today saying that my package (for the MA program) is in the mail. You should hear soon!
-
Well, I don't know for sure if everyone got that email or if they have made all their decisions. I hope for good news.
-
I went to the open house at UofT and there were a number of PhD students there. Did you receive the same "short list" email as the MA students? Have you contacted the grad admin?
-
Let me know if you're going-- we might be classmates!
-
I got accepted to the MA at Toronto too! I suspect that's where I'll end up.
