Not the dual masters, but the GC program. I'm interviewing at Pitt tomorrow. I got in before any major weather from Stella hits. It's cold and a little snowy. Anyone else in Pittsburgh right now?

I've gone with slip on dress shoes. Wingtips give me huge blisters. I wore a pair of Cole Haan in black yesterday for my interview at Wayne State, and it was fine. (Hi to anyone I met there!) I went with a pair of black pants, white dress shirt, gold/black patterned tie, and sport coat. Overall it worked very well. I also have a navy suit I'm planning on wearing for Oklahoma and Pitt, but the same shoes will go with me. With all the walking we'll be doing on campus, I went for comfort over super dressy. Where are you interviewing? Hope that helps. http://www.colehaan.com/tucker-venetian-loafer-black/C03557.html?dwvar_C03557_color=Black&dwvar_C03557_width=

Thanks for the encouragement. I'd be interested in your thoughts/tips as I'm getting ready for a couple interviews and am not sure if my apps were particularly 'genetic counselor' friendly. I'd really hate to not do well on the interviews after getting the chance to be on campus with them.

I got the same letter. I think it's a way to push us into other programs that might be 'in our area' but not quite GC. It looks like they're trying to build their online programs. Not really excited to look at them.

I applied to Indiana State, too. Where did you see that someone else got an email? Is there another thread I'm missing that's posting when interviews are being held?

Hi-I'm planning on applying to CSU, UC, Brandeis, and Sarah Lawrence. I'd really appreciate any thoughts on how you prepared your application materials (including personal statement) and insights from your interviews. Thanks!

I need some help on what psychology classes I should be taking, please. I've checked out several GC programs online but can't find info on what psychology background they want from a potential applicant. I haven't taken any psych classes yet but am interested in applying to GC programs this Fall. I'm also trying to decide whether to take a psych class through a university for credit/grade (cost?) or if it would be OK to take an online class through somewhere like Coursera or a free online class from Harvard/MIT (lower cost). Any suggestions/experiences? Thanks!

Hi Everyone! I'm planning on applying for Fall 2017. I applied last year and had interviews at three out of the four places I applied (UC, IUPUI, and Baltimore) but didn't get any bids. I'm trying to figure out how to get feedback from the programs, so I can make my application materials stronger. I have to admit I'm nervous about getting in touch with them but really want to know what I need to do to be more competitive this next time around. I'm really passionate about pursuing this program and have no idea what I'm missing at this point. The only thing I can figure out right now is that I might not have the psych background or enough volunteer experience in the right areas. I have strong GRE scores and a degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Communication. I'd really appreciate any suggestions/tips. Thanks!
