Maryland's acceptances went out a week or so ago. Not sure how they handle their waitlist

I think universities are open on President's Day. Hoping for Georgetown and Hopkins this week.

I know we are still in the middle of receiving admission decisions, but what factors are you guys using to whittle down your choices? Is rank the end all, be all for you? Are you weighing funding offers pretty heavily? I've seen similar threads, but I'd like to get the views of people who share my academic field.

Received funding info from UT this morning.

This has me hopeful that I'll get some info by the end of the week. Fingers crossed.

Thanks! I received a email from the DGS about 20 minutes ago.

Just received a letter of admissions to University of Maryland along with funding info.

Same, except I've heard nothing from anyone mentioned in my SOP.

Question for the UT Austin people: outside of the DGS did you receive emails from professors not mentioned in your SOP?

I also applied to Hopkins. Not sure why it's not getting any love. Might be because of its lower rank.

I was also wondering about this. I asked the person coordinating the visit day and she said there was no dress code. So maybe ask the coordinator first, but I found this thread helpful, which basically suggested nice jeans and a blouse.

I hoping to hear from University of Maryland and Georgetown next week.

I can't say for sure, but they likely are. Over the past two days, I've gotten a couple emails about coordinating for the visiting day and the deadline for confirmation is pretty soon.

@JMCrawfordNJ Thanks for the link. Looks like my personalized email was actually buried in my inbox. Now I know to check my subfolders. I've also been rejected. Disappointed, but I'll live.

Well jeez, hoping I get some sort of UCLA update today, too. I'd prefer crossing it off my list rather than being in limbo.
