  1. I too was placed in a talent pool and soon afterwards I interviewed and got an offer (previous cohort), so was just passing round. Anyway, if you are placed in a talent group you can contact the NETI HR ( they are your HR now since you are in a NETI talent group). Contact them and let them know you applied for a certain position in your field. They are really nice people, they will do everything in their power to help. you may use this address:  neti@unicef.org. Cheers

Seven months after I have been notified that I am on the NETI Talent Pool, I still did not get an offer for a placement. I was not even contacted for a job interview. When I got the placement notification back in Spring, it felt like it was a big victory, especially since I was told that only a bit over 1% of initiaI applicants have been selected. But now I start thinking that this whole NETI selection process has been a big waste of my time...

No its not. NETI's are still getting placed as positions become available.

No news either! Last I heard was in April saying the June induction had moved to October and asking me to fill in a questionnaire on which duty stations I'd be willing to take.

This is a good thing...means you are really being considered. Arms crossed for you.

    Congratulations, jeremyhardy!

I got my acceptance for M&E as well:) I am very happy for it, although uncertainty still continues. I hope it will not take 3 years to be contacted by a hiring office.

Those of you who have been notified about being successfully selected for the talent pool (but not proposed a specific job), have you received any info after you got the notification? should I expect a Q&A session with the HR?

    Congrats SG...

Hey Val.   Yes, I got an email saying to log on to the recruitment website to get my terms of employment (salary and entitlements) and letter of appointment.  I had to complete a form (update of personal details) , and then had to print,  sign, and scan the offer of appointment  letter, and email it back. Then you receive onboarding instructions. Easy piece-y.

Wow wow and wow...seems very cool. I am guessing you are soon receiving some cash on your account as well before you leave to your duty station. lol. I am really happy for you carrotflowers, and I have been inspired too. As for me I am still waiting to be contacted and I am investing time in work here just to manage the anxiety. Journey of my life. Best wishes.

Congratulations, Tropicalguy! one more step succesfully passed;)

I still dont have an answer and my online status is still 'under review'. But since they contacted my referees after the interview, I still have hopes...

Valery, have they already proposed you a specific placement? it seems that you have been among the first notified about the talent pool placement in our job family and I was wondering how fast they are in finding matching jobs for the selected candidates.

Hi SG. My case is the same as yours. We interviewed for specific positions because those offices were interested in our profiles. So for you and me we already know our prospective duty stations. Good luck

  7. Hi guys.  If you were to give feedback to the NETI  team on what should be improved about the Neti selection process,  according to our own experiences,  what would you say? In other words,  what improvements would you want in the Neti selection process? I am sure this feedback would make the whole experience better for someone else who may apply in the next cohort or even some people that may reapply for the program this year. Regards as I wait to hear from y'all.

thanks a lot for this , Valery!

for the time being, what I would love to know is how many NETI professionals they manage to place in duty stations every year (per job family), and in what locations these professionals have been actually placed. Can it happen for NETI people to be placed in regional offices or headquarters? Or do they place the NETI fellows in most cases in local offices?

Hi SG, this is what I managed to find out.

    1. There were very many applications this year so the selection process is still ongoing..so if you have not received notification yet it does not mean it is the end of the road. For instance M&E alone had over 2000 applications; to even make it to the final stage is a really good thing to be proud of.

    2. About how many NETI's per job family: it is bit hard to tell since placement depends on the talent gaps within UNICEF. But for M&E they are looking at placing approximately 5 placements in this Neti batch. Still if you are in a talent pool and not placed in time for the induction they will be marketing your profile aggressively all year round for many more opportunities within UNICEF. So talent group placement is very good.

    3. Netis can be placed anywhere where there is a talent gap, whether NY HQ or regional offices.

    4. About having two batches this year i was informed that it is not final yet...but most likely it will be one this year.

    Good luck everyone!

Just got an email- was successful in getting in to the talent pool for P3 Social Policy. Absolutely delighted and so relieved to finally get a response!

For info sharing, the email says that I am now in the talent pool for 3 years. This doesn't guarantee me a NETI post but any offices interested in my profile will now be able to contact me about them. If I get a NETI placement, induction will be in June in NYC. They said the NETI team will contact me to inquire about my specific interests and share further information related to the next steps.

Good luck everyone! Really hoping for some more success stories on here.

Congrats BTS. I'd say this is very good. Fingers crossed for you.

No news here yet either (social policy) but references also contacted.

Have a recent job offer which I've taken as figuring even if successful, it'll be a slow start given what Valery has said about a June HQ induction.

On that note, thanks so much to all for the info sharing- really very useful in working it all out!

Hi BTSBTS I recently found out that the induction comes after people have started work at their duty stations. I think NETI participants start around April. So dont give up hope yet. On another note, I have a Q&A session with the NETI team sometime next week and I am going to be getting answers to questions that I have concerning the program. So i was wondering if any of you guys had any questions. It would be my pleasure to get some answers on your behalf. Ciao

Thanks! I'm sure you'll get an offer soon and we'll see each other in NY! Didn't you say btw that they told you the post they were interviewing for?

Thanks. Yeah they told me at the time of the interview. And yeah, I believe we'll surely meet in NY...and remove the gradcafe masks. Have you noticed how this thread has been very active this year compared to the other years? I have a feeling there's going to be more winners here this year. Cheers

Hi Valery, yes I've been in the P2 talent pool for a couple of years now, but they only now offered me a position.  Sucks because now I will accept the position (I'd be crazy not to, right?) but that will mean foregoing my chance for a P3 position  from this year's selection process.   Anyway, hopefully see you in NY!

Congs carrotflowers. atleast for you the anxiety is no more. I'd say P2 is a great place to start. Good luck in your journey to change the world.

  13. They say more emails are coming about the next steps. I think what determines the location is the languages you speak, and if you have some international experience they would want to match you to a simular location. But those are just my views I think there is more. I think next week is very important for everybody here. Here is to me wishing everyone the best of luck. Hasta luego

  14. The email says I got placed in the talent pool. They add  that if i get placed in a Neti location then there will be an induction at NY HQ approximately around 5-19th June this year. Yeah the whole process is abit hard to comprehend how it works for everyone but am sure most emails will be.flying next week. So carrotflowers all along you've been in a talent pool?

Valéry they told me the final selection process would take about eight weeks. This was since mid-December mind you, so I'm coming up on the seven week mark. None of my references have been contacted so to be realistic hope is fading for me. I have another job offer but UNICEF is my first choice:(

Thanks trn...If i may, you mean when you check your profile you do not see something like "reference check sent out"?. But in any case I'd go for the bird in hand since it doesnt change anything. And keep the faith...sometimes the universe has no choice but to pull all the strings to give a man wat he wants. Cheers

Valery, I had a simmilar situation: I was invited last Dec to an interview for a specific post, not for the general talent pool. Since then I have not heard back from them.

So SG did you manage to ask when they would get back to you? For me unfortunately I didnt get to ask that question.
