  1. Hi everyone! I'm applying for an ETA position in Macedonia. Are any other ETA applicants not pursuing a career in teaching? I love working with students and I have a lot of experience, but I'm not studying education. I'm a little worried that this will hurt my application ?
  2. so getting a passport is turning out to an adventure -.-
  3. Emails are out! I made finalist for Turkish!! Wishing everyone luck
  4. @mrs12 I applied for beginning Turkish! In high school we were going to take a senior trip to Turkey, and through researching for it I became interested in the language and history. The trip was relocated, but I was still enthusiastic about learning Turkish, aaand a couple years later here I am!
  5. anyone else a semifinalist for turkish? How did you become interested in learning the language?
  6. I understand the anxiety some people are feeling, it's tough having to tell your work, internship, etc that you can't give a definite answer for at most another two weeks, when they're pressuring you for an answer as soon as possible. I don't blame the state department for needing time to sift through the applications, CLS seems like a huge undertaking and we're not the only thing on their plates. it's just a tough situation. At least we have this forum to vent on!
  7. Oh man, I don't think I'll be able to stand waiting through the weekend! every time I see a new post here my heart leaps.
  8. I'm so excited! I hope they come out soon, I have to confirm my summer plans by March
  9. @mrs12 I'm definitely not changing my mind. I need to start somewhere, and the opportunities to learn beginners Turkish in my area, for my financial situation are very limited. I've also heard that Baku is a fascinating city, historically and culturally ^^
  10. semifinalist for Turkish! Now for another month of anxiety...
  11. @nervousgal I'm applying for beginning Turkish too! What inspired you to begin learning the language?
  12. Thought I'd be able to put the results out of my mind by being busy with school all day, but then I woke up sick! now I get to lie in bed and do nothing but worry
  13. I worked on mine on and off from the day the application opened, to the 15th. I'm not a very good writer, so I've been spending a lot of time worrying about whether or not my essays are good enough
