I will be attending for Fall 2010 also, but for the European History MA. I visited the campus last summer, didn't get a chance to meet any of the professors, but the campus seems pretty standard for a large school in a semi-rural setting. Northampton is a really cool town; lots going on and a ton of little restaurants/shops, and it's pretty close to the campus (15 mins-ish). We drove around the area and didn't really see any places you wouldn't want to live. Congratulations on the admission, see you in the fall.

The 15th of April for funding is definitely cutting, hopefully they let us know before then. As for the 2 waves, that would be my guess also. I received postal notice yesterday and I'm in North Carolina, so I'm guessing I wouldn't have been the first to hear. To those who have been accepted: Any word on funding? Also, who plans on attending? And, is your acceptance of the offer contingent on funding? To those who have yet to be accepted: Is Umass your first choice? Do you plan on attending with/without funding offers? Best of luck to all those who have yet to hear!

I've received my acceptance letter from the history department in the mail today, dated March 2nd. Fellowships and assistantships decisions will be made in the "near future" and will be notified of the status by April 15. Good luck everyone!

Not to alarm anyone but I was listed online as "conditional admit" for the MA yesterday morning. I'm not sure how exactly they post their selections,but I can say they have already notified some people. Perhaps calling wouldn't hurt;it would either make your day or eliminate more days, possibly weeks, ofwonder. Best of luck to all.
