  1. I'm curious to see this spreadsheet, though gradcafe says: The page you are trying to access is not available for your account.
  2. I hope you didn't receive the letter I received this morning.
  3. Thanks for sharing this. I wish I knew that they want only one international student before applying. By the way, you got into University of Rochester as well? Congratulations!! That's a wonderful program!
  4. I don't, but you know, when I was reviewing one of the Art History threads from previous years here in gradcafe maybe a month ago, I saw a post by somebody asking if it's true that University of Toronto takes only one international student each year?
  5. @MarinaLazarus @VAMuseum25 I'm not sure if we should consider this a fact, though it seems only Canadians have been admitted to the program so far.
  6. Well, it's a hard question to answer. It might be a great experience and it might let you to have a better perspective, but as far as I know, most of the experts on Ottoman/Islamic art and architecture (who are working in America) have done MA/PhD here. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) So I feel doing the MA in America would be more helpful to get into a prestigious PhD program, if that's your final goal.
  7. I'm international. I remember you were accepted to the program! Do you mind if I ask you whether you accepted their offer?
  8. New week, same old question: Any news from the University of Toronto? I know they were going to send out the offers last week, but it seems nobody here has heard a word from them.
  9. It really depends. For example if you have exchanged bunch of emails with your POI, it is okay to ask him/her about the process. Otherwise, I'd send a short email to Student/Graduate Affairs person. I know it might sound rude, but when you have to make decisions, it is logical. Needless to say, this is only how I feel about it.
  10. Well, I don't specifically talk about Williams College, but in my point of view, it is totally fine to ask for an application update in mid-March from anywhere.
  11. As decision time is ahead of us, I was wondering how everyone feels about this ranking? https://web.archive.org/web/20120516074401/http://arthistorynewsletter.com/blog/?p=5204 Does it sound valid to you?
  12. What's up with UCLA? They seem relatively slower this year..
  13. Hahaha.. my bad! Right, Kentucky is UK and Kansas is KU. UK is such a heavy acronym though, it's hard to read it without a fancy accent!
  14. Congratulations! I'm happy for you!!! And you got into somewhere in UK as well?
  15. You can always email schools but I guess being honest with Columbia and asking more time from them might be a more productive option.
