I just officially accepted an offer at Texas A&M's Clinical Psych after receiving an official Fellowship offer, I'm so excited!

Letter came this morning from department chair! Thanks again! 

I know what you mean about worrying that it's all in your head lol. I saw the official letter and still had an irrational fear that there could've been a mistake.

I've been accepted to some programs and don't have any interview invites pending or anything, BUT I can't stop refreshing my email. This process has totally wrecked me mentally; I refresh my email every five minutes. Idk what I'm expecting to come! 
Anyway, I just thought I'd share and use this as an opportunity to tell everyone to go out and have fun! I know everyone isn't done yet and some are still waiting, but self care is so important! I encourage everyone to go catch a movie, hang with friends, SOMETHING. Just stop refreshing!! Good things will come! 

Haha, nothing in particular, just looking back and reading through the results. I think sometimes it is just difficult to be perceived "not good enough," for a program. Different people handle it in different ways. Some I understand and others are extremely prideful.

Thoughts: I am very excited to have received an offer. I was uncertain going on the interview if I would like the program/location because I am from the east coast. I loved everything about the school including the program, the current graduate students, and most importantly my POI. I have one more interview, but I am most likely going to accept this

Thoughts: I'm happily surprised. Interviewed via phone call with all the faculty at once which I felt was a death sentence for an acceptance. I wasn't super confident about my interview but I must've done better than expected! More than likely accepting since I can do forensic work! Plus full assistantship, what more can a girl ask for?  

A thread where people can post their acceptances for the fall and which school they plan to attend! Clinical, counseling, experimental, social,  neuroscience, etc -- everyone tell us your good news! 

We should def start a thread letting each other know where we end up. I got an offer from GMU, one of my top choices, which I accepted. It was a tough call because there were several programs I interviewed at that I loved, but this was the best fit. After four years of uncertainty over my future, it is strange but wonderful to know where I'll be, and that I am moving toward my goal in a very concrete way. If anyone else is going to be at GMU, we should get in touch!

I am getting so run down after this these interviews. I feel like traveling really throws me off and after a day or so I start to feel like complete crap! I cannot wait to be finished with this marathon interviewing. Anyone else feel like this?

Exactly! I have 1 acceptance, 2 interviews left, and I'm waiting for one school to get back to me...I know I'm not going to get any emails during the weekend but I'm still checking out of habit and then get disappointed that my inbox is empty. Worrying is a terrible habit when it's out of your control. I'm totally going to the gym to de-stress. Thanks for the reality check!!

I emailed mine and other falculty. Nothing too long -- just three lines saying thanks for the interview and that I enjoyed talking to them.

While nervous Nellie could've worded their comment much better I think its believed that if you're on the waitlist of a less preferred program and have an offer from a preferred program then you also should count waitlist as 'offer to let go'. Its kind of murky but I hope you get your funding information soon and you're happy with it!

I would strongly suggest doing it in-person in a US university if he can afford it. Here is a list from APA of some universities with post-bac opportunities in psychology. Its from 2014 but its a good jumping off point: http://www.apa.org/ed/precollege/psn/2014/09/post-baccalaureate.aspx
He will also have to take the GRE and psychology GRE to prove that he has foundational knowledge in psychology (though I'm not sure if the masters program he's interested in require it but a grad program might) also with how competitive clinical psych is in the US is that for sure what they want to do? Many programs also require strong evidence of research productivity.

I've recently went through this. I ended up canceling to save money. This process has been too expensive to go to schools I'm no longer interested in attending. 

If you like a program and find out from the data of previous years that is available that you can live with the stipend they offer, then I think you can pretty much say good bye to all other interviews lined up. Too much time, money and stress goes into the travelling and preparation for the interviews and if you prize them less than what you already have, it doesn't make much sense enduring the ordeal. But be sure that there is an actual offer on the table before you decline the other interviews (as I'm sure you have already). For me, it has ranged from two hours - two days. My schools have been pretty quick about letting me know if I've been accepted. 

No - I'm waiting to finish all my interviews before I make a decision. I have declined an offer that I knew for sure I would not attend no matter what, though.

Area/Degree: Clinical Psychology, PhD
Rationalization: Only 1 publication/poster presentation, applying straight from undergrad
Comment: Actually heartbroken; had to email my POI after not hearing anything after interviews. Was really disappointed they didn't reach out to notify me after making offers. This was my last chance, so I guess I'm striking out for this application cycle
Coping tactics: I have an interview for an international fellowship next week, so going to give that my 110%
