  1. Congrats! I was thinking they were done. You've given me some hope that I might yet hear from them. So far, I've gotten 6/9 interviews, but MIT is my top choice. I noticed that you've applied to both neuro and bioscience programs, like harvard's BBS. In retrospect, I wish I done the same since some of the labs at Harvard that I wanted are neuro labs but also available to BBS applicants. Given that this was such a competitive year for PiN, applying to BBS was probably a good way of getting a foot in the door even if it means not being a member of PiN.
  2. Thanks! I was planning, and prefer, wearing chinos with a dress shirt and probably a sport jacket. Just wasn't sure if I needed to wear a tie. Now I have my answer. In the meantime, hoping to get a few more interviews.
  3. Were you, by chance, interviewing for neuro programs? I know that guys wear suits for med school interviews but I had the impression that for neuro phd programs, a dress shirt and chinos with a sport jacket would be appropriate.
  4. I'll be interviewing for neuroscience programs. Any idea of what's appropriate?
  5. Suggestions for guys? I know suits are a no, but what about ties? A sports jacket? Chinos ok?
  6. Here's hoping that we all hear good news from MIT!
  7. It's at top of my list, too. Actually, so is Columbia.
  8. I'm waiting for Columbia, too, as well as MIT. Not sure if MIT is done sending out emails. They seem to be handling this cycle differently from previous, maybe because like Harvard they received a record number of applicants. In years past, they sent out emails over several days. Not sure if that will change this year.
  9. Thanks for the information. Wow, that's a huge increase in applicants.
  10. Thanks. Yup, see them now. Still waiting to hear from them. Noticed that for last year, they came out over a few days.
  11. There is only one and it was from awhile ago, unless you've seen another today?
  12. Harvard's Program in Neuroscience, through the med school. http://dms.hms.harvard.edu/neuroscience/
  13. I'd love to know what percent of Harvard PiN applicants got an interview this year and how many will be admitted. They supposedly got a record number of applicants.
  14. Waiting for Columbia as well. Best of luck to all waiting to hear from them.
  15. ^ that's seems likely. Got a JHU email today but for those who didn't, more emails may come later if last year is any indication. I know it's tough to wait. I think I've been rejected from one of my top choices because I haven't gotten an email and it seems likely that they were sent all in one day. Chins up.
  16. Just checked last year's results. They were sent on dec 22 and jan 7. Not sure what the lag time implies.
  17. Based on last year's results, NYU also sends out invites well into this week. So I guess we'll just wait for a bit.
  18. Has anyone heard from Yale, UCSF, Columbia, JHU or NYU?
  19. I only see one MIT post on the results page. Am I missing some others, or did you see the one as well? I just checked out last year's interview dates on the results page and people got invites on Dec 15, 21, 27, 30 and on jan 11. Some were done through emails, others by phone. Seems like we've got time before assuming we're passed over.
  20. Portland is a great town. Amazing bookstore, decent coffee, lots of microbreweries. Good hiking not far from town. Easy to get to Seattle and nat'l parks. Notwithstanding the recent unusual snow storm, fairly temperate weather. I vacationed there mainly to hike and drove up to Seattle through the national parks. Loved it.
  21. It seems from the results page that MIT invites went out around this time during the last several years, but also that they went out over a few days rather than all on a day. Hoping to hear from them, too. And what he ^ said. This is a tough process. One of my top choices hasn't sent me an invite...gotta move on & hope for the best.
