@oliveoil NO WAY! Aw man I'm sorry to hear that ... ugh that would be incredible to be able to pay the UK/EU rate. I hope you get funding ( ... if that even exists at the RCA ... which at this point I'm not sure it actually does). l o l 

I emailed the financial aid office about a month before I decided to apply and asked if they offer any sort of funding to students and someone there replied to me saying that funding is based on portfolio strength and interview performance and that their scholarships operate on an "email invitation basis". I don't know if "funding" and "scholarships" are the same thing (if the guy in Financial Aid was using the terms intermittently) or if these are two separate entities at the RCA ... 

The thing that sucks is the RCA isn't on the list of schools that the Canadian gov't issues loans for. So even if I decided to go (and pay 28k GBP per year) there doesn't seem to be a way for me to put together the funds. 

I don't know dude ... I hope we're wrong about this and we get offered some sort of funding. I'll let you know what's laid out in my acceptance package (if anything)

I respectfully and deeply disagree. People earned their time to decide longer if the school offers that to them. 
Your comment undermines the fact that every applicant who received an invitation earned that opportunity. There are surprises and many things to consider once all the offers are in. But most importantly, this is an endeavor each of us individually are pursuing that which most of us will only get to try once. We would be cheating ourselves if we don't consider all of our options carefully. 
Getting on the waitlist is amazing, and congratulations for making onto it. A lot of people would appreciate that peace of mind that their work is respected at their dream school. 

Oh man, you're lucky - I hope it works out and you get to pay the UK/EU tuition fee!!
I'm planning on calling at some point this week too, to see if there's anything at all available to me in terms of funding or scholarships. RCA isn't covered by the National Student Loans Service Centre in Canada so I can't get government issued student loans for my studies

Mine is March 14th! I live in Toronto so I'm thinking about asking for a skype interview :/ 
... but RCA is my #1 choice and I'm sure that actually showing up for the interview would bode well for my chances at getting accepted. 
Are you going to attend in-person??

Hey -- another graphic design person!!  

I also applied to UAL! The MA graphics course at CSM to be specific. I think it's quite staggered for UAL in terms of hearing back from admissions at the various colleges. 
If you don't mind me asking, what other programs have you applied to?

I did not. just the receipt and the submitted status.  I think if it wasn't submitted you'd still be able to edit the app.

Thank you for the reply! My reference didn't submit until Monday night but I think I shoouuuuuld be okay. I didn't submit my application until Jan 2nd so mine will most likely be one of the last they review. Just hoping I get an interview ..
