One school scheduled me for an interview with a professor whose research I'm genuinely interested in, but at the same time I'm scheduled to meet with 2 others who seem completely random to me and aren't great fits. I have no idea what we are even going to talk about. Do I just straight up admit there probably isn't a fit or is that rude? I guess there's a subtle way of doing this?

I applied to Tufts but haven't heard back yet either. It seems like their first round of acceptances is usually sent out in the first week of March.

Makes sense! Anyone know if Vanderbilt tends to accept people they invite to visit weekend? It's one of those "this isn't a formal interview but we want to make sure there's a 'good fit' " sort of thing.

I'm kind of sad no one posts on this as much anymore. Has everyone basically gotten all of their decisions back or is there another forum people are on?

Also I emailed a UMich professor who asked me to Skype about potential research in her lab so I could find out more about my application. She was like "you seem like a fit at Michigan but the admissions department has the final say for the overwhelming number of applications. I wish you the best with your academic endeavors." That's basically a rejection, right??? Sorry I'm freaking out haha

So I heard JHU and Northwestern interview invites have been sent out (along with UMich like I mentioned before). Anyone know if these schools stagger their invitations or does this mean I probably won't get one?

If I haven't received an interview request from UMich at this point, is it safe to assume that I've been rejected? Seems unlikely for me since you generally need the interview to be considered for admission.

I'm freaking out because the UMich interviews have been released and I'd love someone's thoughts on this. A PI reached out to me after I submitted my application (mid December) to do a Skype call and even had me send out a research profile. The conversation lasted an hour and seemed really positive, but she didn't mention me coming in for a formal interview at the end. does this mean an interview is unlikely at this point or are the notifications staggered?
