Research. I just cannot believe they gave a Fulbright to a rural 39 year old with kids. It took me 10 years to finish my undergrad... guess I'll have to fake it and act like I belong...
    Thanks for the congrats everyone!

So looking at the dates chart, the UK has notified on the 3rd Monday or Tuesday of March pretty much without fail, excluding for 2015. If they stay on that track, then us UK folks will be looking at notifications either the 20th or 21st. Basically one more week of torture.

Just got a " Congratulations On Your Fulbright U.S. Student Award " e-mail, but still nothing with (P) in the subject... anxiously awaiting that second e-mail, as I've been burned before (UCSD accidentally sent me an acceptance once). Cautiously celebrating that I am likely going to Norway next year!

ETA Finalist for Czech Republic here too! WOO! Just a heads up everyone - I received 2 emails! The first one was with the subject line "Congratulations On Your Fulbright U.S. Student Award" and the next one was "Fulbright Application Status (P)." Not sure if this is the norm, but I know people have been curious about subject lines.
    Good luck to everyone!! <3

Congrats to all who are finalists and may the Fulbright Comission of your country find more funds to make alternates into finalists! ?

Hey, I don't really have any advice, but I'm in the exact same boat (semi-finalist for study at East Anglia) and I haven't received anything about an interview either! Maybe a lot of the notifications are later this year? (holding onto the hope that it isn't just a flat rejection)
I know there have also been discussions upthread about how not every program does interviews, and even programs that do do interviews don't always interview the person who will ultimately be the winner. So, who knows!

Hopefully this makes you feel better, but I applied to 12 programs and was rejected by 9. It felt bad, but when I got to my program now, I was SO happy. I honestly can't fathom being anywhere else. Weird things happen, but for a reason (IMO).

Yeah, I've posted before about this. Some universities do not interview. Some do interview, but do not interview everyone (and this does not necessarily mean you are out of the running). I met one person who didn't get an interview, others for her uni did, and then she got the grant. So really, it is all a mystery.
That said, usually if the uni does do interviews, everyone eventually gets one, but that is not ALWAYS the case.

There's always been some confusion about this in previous years.  This is from the 2014-15 forum by visanth14 who said on Feb 14, 2014 about how yes the Fulbright US/UK website seems pretty definitive when it comes to interviews BUT:
"..... I'm not sure that that's entirely the case. My FPA contacted some of her FPA "listserv friends" to see if other FPAs have had UK applicants with a similar experience. Their responses suggest that you and I are definitely not alone in being invite-less and that not all invites may be sent out at the same time. Additionally, some of them seem to think some candidates who are being seriously considered aren't interviewed at all.
Also, I came across a message posted in a similar Fulbright forum a couple years back written by a UK applicant who was recommended but didn't get an interview invite. The applicant contacted the International Advisor to find out if his/her application was still under consideration. The applicant posted the International Advisor's response: ""Not to worry... It simply means that the committee has sufficient info without requiring an interview, but the candidate is still in play. As you can imagine, we just can't interview all 600+!"
So, basically, there's really no way to know anything just yet. Cheers to hanging in there and waiting it out!"

Congrats on your interview and other offers! What option did you choose? I had a successful interview last year for the Experiencing Modernism option and it was quite conversational, nothing too formal. Granted, mine was in person and I also sat in on the class prior to the meeting. However, it was fairly laid back and most of the discussion was on my experience (or elaborating on) since the Courtauld's app doesn't ask for a resume. There was a brief discussion on my research interests as well and how or if those intersected with the Professors. So know their work as best as possible or at least familiarize yourself with some publications. I also had 2 offers from other programs at the time so that made a huge difference going into the interview. The best advice that was given to me and I'll share with you: Be prepared to ask questions as well since you are also interviewing them, especially if you come in with other offers. The Courtauld is a unique program, make sure it's the right fit. Find out if the course crosses over with others so you have access to more than one professor (i.e. Experiencing Modernism had cross-over with Russian option), or the professor's focus is not quite what you expect from the option (more architecture or design focused that painting for example). I originally had my heart set on the Courtauld, but after the visit and interview realized that it was not the best fit for me and I rejected the offer.  Also, don't sweat too much if you don't hear back immediately after the interview! It was a month and a half between my interview and official offer.
I hope that helps you and good luck on your interview! Best wishes on your decisions!

We won't be interviewed by US committees, but a UK panel. They despise him. And to be quite honest, his agenda stands against everything the Fulbright promotes, so don't fear. Be honest! You don't have to lie! I have been practicing my statements with my friends and my professors in my department. Especially Trump questions. We should just be prepared for it!

Tip for UK semi finalists! Just talked to one of the Fulbright finalists from this year. When you interview be prepared to respond to questions about Trump.
Also, don't worry to much about the State department or challenging right wing extremism.
Just be yourself and stay true to the work you want to research. Don't pander.
Best of luck to you all.
