  1. Thank you !! I will not, and will be turning down the spot this weekend...hopefully freeing it up for one of you
  2. I jsut got accepted!! had my interview yesterday
  3. I think its in the 30%...but i feel like if you get invited for the interview you have a really good chance of getting in
  4. def! also, NYU is my top and i put a deposit down there but I do want to get into hunter! So my nerves arent terrible
  5. it was ok! its kind of impossible to tell how you did....she (I forgot the facilitators name) asked us all why the clinical track, how our social identity will affect our relationship with our clients, and then gave us a hypothetical clinical situation. I thought everyone had articulate and insightful answers. The writing portion sucked haha. The article was dense and the question to answer kind of made no sense but oh well!
  6. i had my interview today!! does anyone know how long it should take to hear back?
  7. Can someone link the threads that discuss the interview on this?? I have mine next week!
  8. Helpful tool-- I think more accurate than US News Rankings since this is by students http://www.graduateprograms.com/school-rankings/masters-in-social-work
  9. ugh any updates on acceptances/interviews!?
  10. Yes absolutely go with what you feel! I felt like based on whom I have spoken to that are working within SW in NYC, they really all will give you the same opportunities. I liked the vibe of NYU the best by far of all the NYC schools and I received a lot of aid so I'm leaning there.
  11. I've been told by almost 100% of those people that Hunter is the strongest program. But also the most competitive to get into! Again, they are all strong within NYC and will give good job prospects but apparently Hunter is looked at the most positively by employers. I heard pretty eh things about Columbia TBH and really good things about NYU and Hunter.
  12. I live in NYC and applied to NYU, Columbia, Hunter and fordham...(only havent heard back from hunter) but based on many sw alumni/students I've spoken too, Fordham is the least known/connected of those 4 within NYC. But still have a good program, just probably not the strongest of the NYC programs.
  13. Does anyone have any insight on which areas of sw are the most booming now? Specifically in NYC (i.e. mental health, policy, trauma, etc.)
