    I wrote to VCU and the grad office said letters should be going out this week, and news should arrive by end of next week. I asked if Fibers had interviews, and they didn't respond to that. On their website it said some departments don't conduct interviews. FYI for anyone who is still waiting to hear from VCU, looks like news should be coming soon.

    @Poodle-Doodle @Vespertine @sylviecerise @Tyra1992 In person interviews at SAIC on Saturday? Anyone want to meet up for a drink? Anybody else in Chicago this weekend? I also heard it was a bit corporate but the Fiber faculty seem awesome, Chicago seems super exciting. And I've seen a lot of SAIC faculty at other schools as well as grads stay as adjunct professors after graduating. I know Yale is #1, but the environment seems pretty hostile. I've visited and decided no thank you. I'm hoping SAIC is a more experimental place and more open/welcoming of different types of people and ideas. I've had a couple friends go to Yale and Columbia and they certainly got a lot out of the experience, but all of them seemed to survive their experiences. I'm hoping grad school isn't quite that bad, I've been looking forward to it for so long.

    Just caught up on all the news, took a couple weeks away from the forum. Glad to see a lot of good news for people!!! Congrats!!! And good luck on upcoming interviews! I'm interviewing at SAIC this weekend! Anyway else going to be in Chicago? Maybe there can be a freakout forum meetup? I'm flying in Friday, I want to get some good sleep for the Saturday morning interview. I also heard from Cranbrook last week! I have an interview on the 28th, phone interview. I ❤️ Cranbrook, it's magic. I heard Cranbrook can be slow, and I actually was expecting it would take another couple of weeks, so if you're waiting for another dept, it is likely they are still processing apps. They sent an email saying final decisions by mid April a couple days before I heard from Mark (Fiber AIR). Tyler, I had an interview end of January. No follow up yet. I'm assuming waitlist, but no idea. Fibers did interviews. It's interesting to see people have been getting notices on Fridays. Mine came in on Tuesday (Tyler), Wednesday (SAIC), Thursday (Cranbrook). Still waiting to hear back from VCU (Fibers and Material Studies) and Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). I just emailed VCU to check the timeline status. Haven't seen anyone else mentioning FMS programs on here, and saw a couple folks have received interviews/acceptances/rejections from other programs.

    @sylviecerise Thanks! Agreed about Jesse, I think she would be an amazing mentor. I visited Tyler in October and it felt really good. Philosophically, I think it would be one of the best fits for me. Since there are more spots and applicants in Sculpture and Painting, I'm sure their timeline is different. I know Jesse wanted to submit a fellowship application(s) for her folks and that deadline is Feb 1. It's going to be a long couple of weeks for us, trying to come up with a strategy to pass the time...

    Hi all, First time poster joining the fray with you guys. My friend who applied last year told me about this forum and now that I'm almost done with applications I guess am ready to check it out. I've been an emotional nutcase just like everyone else. Glad to see I'm in good company here. @Vespertine. Congrats to the acceptance from Tyler! Which program? I had a skype interview for Tyler's Fiber and Material Studies program on Wednesday. I couldn't believe how fast that happened! I have a feeling that since I haven't heard back yet that I'm not receiving a first round offer. FMS only has two students/year. Super stressful. Anyone been offered a spot from Fiber? Working on my last application today to Cranbrook! Anyone else have that left to go? I haven't heard back from anywhere else yet. Also submitted to SAIC, VCU and Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). Good luck everyone! My mantra is MFA 2017! Hopefully that will get it done.
