  1. Does anyone know if emailing is acceptable for declining an offer? One of my schools emailed me checking in and when I called no one answered.
  2. Yes! I loved it so much too! I was really torn about moving across the country but there's really no reason I can't, so decided to embrace the experience and try something new! I really hope UCI works out for you.. it really is such a great program too- and Southern California is the best
  3. @Ultrapeaches I am going to call Boston and accept, so UCI will have another position. I will call them right after
  4. There is definitely still hope for people on waitlists! I got off two waitlists already and have to deny 3 offers today so shift WILL happen. Good luck!!!!!
  5. @Gadgette so true! And I probably will come back.. Giving me all the more reason to experience a new place before settling. But easier said then done.. Thinking of having to pay $400/500 to visit home each time. It's intimidating. Thanks for the input though!!
  6. @Ellaie I can totally relate to what you are saying about the comfort of staying near home vs moving to a new state. I went into this set on moving out of California to experience something new! But now that the reality of it is in front of me it seems really inconvenient and kind of scary! It's really tough.
  7. @Ultrapeaches I'm still waiting on a school before I make a decision!
  8. Just got accepted to UC Irvine via phone!! The whole phone call thing is such an adrenaline rush ?
  9. @Gorays39 congrats! Just got my acceptance there too. On the page that says "congratulations! We would like to offer you a position..." It says how to reply to them. You do it through the portal!
  10. @Nefelibata @adragonisnoslave @Gorays39 @GCInTraining @Gadgette @minja134 Thank you all SO much for the insight, it is really helpful and you all had new perspectives on it. I think I will stick to my original ranking without cost being a determining factor for now.
  11. I know everyone is different.. But if anyone has any advice to offer I'm open to it! My biggest dilemma with ranking my programs is that when I don't consider cost I have a certain ranking.. But of course my number one and two are about $30,000 more than 3 and 4. So then it makes me reevaluate my entire ranking. I genuinely cannot know if a specific 2 year program is worth so much more money. Does anyone know from experience, someone else's experience, or have any reasoning as to how much cost will matter in the long run, or if it's worth it to spend a ton more but enjoy the program a bit more? Thanks in advance!
  12. @Ultrapeaches yes! My flight was last night so I'm back in California luckily. But it was craziness at the airports with people trying to get out/ in to the city. I'm glad you made it!
  13. @Ultrapeaches in Boston now! Interviewing at BU on Monday.. When's yours?
  14. @Ferris604 ok perfect interviewing in Denver, Boston, and New York, so it'll definitely a change of scenery for me. Thanks for the help!!
  15. Question.. For those of you who interview somewhere where it's really cold, do you wear a big jacket over your interview outfit and take it off once inside or just suck it up? (I've lived in Southern California my whole life and never been to the east coast so don't make fun )
  16. Finished my first interview at UCI on Monday.. I was the only applicant there the whole day, which was an interesting experience! Enjoyed the day though, everyone I met was amazing. Heading to Boston this weekend, has anyone ever interviewed there and able to offer some insight? Thanks!
  17. @Ellaie Thank you for the info!! That sounds interesting! And hang in there there is still hope!!
  18. Got my interview from UCI.. Anyone who has interviewed there before, any idea what the clinical case management conference entails? Thanks!
  19. @GC20171 sorry for late response but I'd love the PDFs as well please! chandler.means@yahoo.com
  20. @GCInTraining @Lakers1960 I am a crisis text line counselor as well! My shifts don't overlap with yours.. But thanks for passing on the info, I'll definitely be prepared to talk about it it is an interesting counseling experience for sure! There is a great TED talk from the creator of CTL discussing the benefits and how it works. https://www.ted.com/talks/nancy_lublin_texting_that_saves_lives
  21. @GCFaith92 Thank you!!! Just wanted to know already!
