... being able to focus. I find myself so distracted by wondering the mail man has come yet, checking my email, or just refreshing the results board, that it's so hard to focus on other aspects of my life. Anywhere from work to leisure, I find this whole application process to be an albatross on all of it.

So I've spent (probably too much) time looking over the results board. I've noticed a lot of schools send acceptances via email even if unofficially, but I more commonly see rejections arrive via postal service. Has anyone else found this to be the case? Twice now I've received confirmation that letters had been sent out via the post, one was a rejection, and I haven't gotten the second one yet.... However, I know that for certificate and masters programs I've applied to in the past, I've gotten acceptances in the mail with no email.... Just wondering if I should start preparing myself for the worst now, or if there might still be hope for me.

Wow.... congrats to many of you for all your acceptances! I'm afraid my application process isn't going quite as well. I've heard back from Johns Hopkins and Yale and was rejected to both. Still waiting to hear from U Pitt and Georgetown. However, I'm interested in emerging infectious diseases so the programs at the two schools I haven't heard from are a better fit anywhere. So I've still got my fingers crossed.

... or even if no one applied to this specific program.... Do any other georgetown applicants know when they're expecting to hear back and by what means? So I know if I should be constantly refreshing my email inbox, or stalking the mailman .... or if it'll probably still be a few weeks before I hear

Anyone apply to Georgetown's Global Infectious Disease PhD program? I can't find any forum hits on any applicants from this year or previous ones.... And this is where the silly voice in my head says "Yes! I'm the only one who applied! Instant acceptance!" LOL Just looking to see if anyone had heard a response yet, I can't find a date or time frame on their website to even know when to expect something.
