Hi guys, I was wondering, does anyone know when mandatory orientation is? I know there are some pre-orientations as early as May/June but does anyone know when the mandatory one before classes is? Anybody that already attends the school and still visits the forum? I've been planning a trip for my bday which is August 21st and wanted to know if it will be possible

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. I did horrible on the writing part like literally what I wrote made no sense. You should be fine

There were 8 of us, all for the 2 year clinical track.

I was extremely nervous at first, i was shaking and thought my response to the first question was a mess. But after that I became so much more calmed it was very conversational! And everybody was very friendly Good luck, you'll do great!

I was also accepted today at noon, may i ask what made you decide on not attending? What school did you decide on? Thanks in advance!

That's funny, I had my interview today too. It went well. But i agree, the writing portion sucked. I just literally wrote what the article said in my own words.

I just received an invitation for an interview!!! I'm so excited!!!!

It still says submitted. I applied by the Feb 5th deadline but then it took two weeks after that to have my recs completed and then I received a call that they needed my official transcript (something about my unofficial transcript missing info or something) and then they didn't receive the transcript until Feb 27th so it's gonna be a while until I hear from them. I need to put a deposit down in the next two weeks What is your Hunter app status??

Has anybody put down a deposit for NYU and absolutely planning to attend? or has anyone put a deposit down until they receive an acceptance from another school? I'm still unsure on where to put down a deposit NYU or Fordham until i hear back from Hunter

The reviews on graduateprograms.com and ratemyprofessor.com are based more on the student's overall happiness with the program and the quality of education as well as how supported they feel and how they feel they're treated by faculty and such. I went to an information session for NYU on February 15th and just attended Fordham's information session yesterday. I also went on a campus tour for NYU Feb 24th and to a Fordham campus tour on Feb 27th. Also, I spoke to both financial aid counselors from each school. IMO, from my experience Fordham's faculty and staff from financial counselors to admissions counselors were more helpful and seem like they geuninely care. They were very nice and really answered my questions in depth. The campus seemed more laidback and its very nice (the courtyard to hang out in and the classrooms look pretty modern) I did like the NYU campus too, it's vibrant and loud as you would imagine since it is right in the streets and doesnt really have the traditional campus feel. I was impressed with the looks of the student resource center and the library of course, there seems to be a lot of resources around the campus as well as events. The classrooms are not as nice because the building is more traditional and the classroom are very small. Faculty from the information session did not seem as helpful and everything they talked about i felt like i already knew. The financial aid counselor was a little rude and apathetic while Fordham's financial aid cousnelor was so nice and helpful (I did not receive more award money or anything from neither). However, I have to admit the reason why I'm still thinking about NYU is because i am interested in a clinical focus and NYU has many more electives that interest me and of course it's overall a clinically focused program. Also, I dont know how true this is but part of me feels like there might be more opportunity to network and that is very important of course. I will probably have to ask for an extension too since i was accepted about three weeks ago. Did you apply to Fordham as well? I am leaning more towards Fordham just because I liked the campus feel and is cheaper. What made you decide on NYU and not Fordham for now?

Thank you so much for all the info and advice! I spoke to a student there and she was telling me how she didn't really think she did well in the interview and then they asked her for a second interview and accepted her. I'm sure you did much better than you think, don't stress it BTW, I visited NYU today for a campus tour, loved it but the money is such a huge concern to me so I will probably turn it down. I really feel stupid turning down NYU tho, It would probably open so many doors! Thank you and good luck as well!!

Congrats on receiving an interview!! I actually went there today to drop off my official trascript and my last recommendation was just submitted yesterday so I probably won't be hearing back for awhile. Im so scared and want to recieve an interview so badly. If you don't mind me asking, when did you submit all your application materials and when did they invite you over for an interview? How did the interview go??
