  1. Eep. Thats kind of incredibly discouraging. I'm from Calgary so I would have no place to start or have any real networks established in Toronto. I guess that's what I was hoping for is to have the school help me navigate that process.
  2. Thats really interesting! I have never really seen myself as a "clinical" person so it helps to hear your experiences. What was the practicum process like and what kind of opportunities or agencies have students had?
  3. For those admitted into york, how did you find out? By email or letter?
  4. Could anyone inform me of what the MSW at York University looks like? Does anyone know if it's a good program and what the practicum placements are like? And also what housing options someone from another province has? Is it wise to bring a car or to do off campus housing?
  5. I'm not too down about it. Just wanting to know so I can plan for the future! No I didn't apply because I felt the specializations for me aren't quite what I'm looking for in terms of courses an learning experience, i received a rehabiliation and disability studies degree and my bsw. just thought after 2 degrees from u of c, I feel I have fairly decent foundation of the human services sector here so I thought to diversify and try a new experience in a different city
  6. I had also gotten a rejection letter very early from Laurier and I live in Calgary. I definitely felt however that my experiences accumulated to over 3500 hours, even calculated it too. I applied to the advanced standing msw. Waiting on U of T, Ryerson and York still. So crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.
