Hi all!
I was notified nearly two weeks ago now that I was selected for a PhD research grant to Namibia... but the student self-service portal still isn't working... so I haven't been able to access ANY of the documents! I've been back & forth with tech support, but I'm afraid I'm starting to bother the guys, as I've checked in with them like 4 times already...
Have any other awarded grantees been experiencing trouble with this? Has anyone heard back or had any news about what exactly we're supposed to be doing?
Many thanks!
P.S.
Congrats to those who have been awarded thus far! What a relief!!
To those who have received news that they were not selected this time around, do not despair! I applied for a research grant to the EU when I was in undergrad & was eventually rejected (being a finalist had totally gotten my hopes up). There is ALWAYS another chance (this was my redemption) & there are ALWAYS other amazing options for you to explore!

I want to thank everyone for the support! Unfortunately, I did not get the Fulbright ETA. I was disappointed to say the least but in my experience these things usually happen for a reason. For those who are waiting I will keep my fingers crossed for you! Good luck everyone on wherever you land.

Oh man, don't I know it. My kid's school made everyone fill out registration forms to let them know if the students would be returning next year or not (so they can put classes together) and I had to say I didn't know where we'd be living. I felt like such a deadbeat!

Ugh a bit late to this. You guys I've applied for this damn thing 5 times ..been a semifinalist 3 times and just received my 5th NS. ?
For those who are alternate and finalist feel so proud because I am so proud of you.
Good luck to everyone in waiting. If anyone has other funding suggestions to Indonesia I would love ideas!
As for me I think I'm done trying for a while. Can't even possibly fathom going through this process again. Mehhhhh

Hi all,
I'm not sure if this will be any consolation or just make it worse, but as an Irish applicant to Fulbright I can tell you that we have not been notified yet either. I know last year's Irish applicants were notified on 16 March (2 days before American Fulbright applicants according to spreadsheet). Not sure if that's the standard pattern or anything but it is the only wee nugget of info I have.
Beannacht libh go léir!

Hi everyone!
I've been lurking for a while and have been commiserating wholeheartedly with everyone about waiting for results. Bahrain usually doesn't notify until late April so I wasn't expecting anything until then, but I just got the email that I am a finalist for the ETA!!!! If anyone else is going to be in the Gulf area for research or ETA let me know!!!
On a side note, I also won a CLS award to study Arabic in Oman this summer, but the PDO for Fulbright is right in the middle of the CLS period. Has anyone had experience with or known someone who has been able to miss the Fulbright PDO for this reason? The dates for the actual CLS and Fulbright periods don't conflict, just the orientation.
You guys are amazing and have kept me sane the past few months. Thank you for being here!!!

Hey everyone! I've been hardcore lurking for sometime now - congratulations to all of this cycle's grantees so far! For those of you still waiting -- hang in there! To those of you who received an (A) or (NS), you are all incredible and there is so much ahead of you!!
I found out last Wednesday that I got an ETA for Senegal (woohoo!), and I'm wondering if any fellow Senegal (or Sub-Saharan Africa!) grantees are out there! I'd love to get to know y'all!

Hi everyone!
I've been lurking but I'm the Macedonia applicant on the spreadsheet and wanted to let any other Macedonia hopefuls out there that I'm declining the grant in favor of the CBYX grant to Germany, so an ETA spot will be opening up.
I wish all of you the best on your Fulbright and other life adventures! I've been so impressed by the support everyone provides each other despite technically being in competition, and I know you'll all do great things! Also, if any Germany Fulbrighters want to meet up in-country, feel free to shoot me a message and we can get in touch via email or Facebook. I'll be arriving in Germany in late July, although I don't yet know where I'll be placed.
Cheers!

Hello! I discovered this forum only a fortnight ago, have been lurking ever since, and wanted to pop-in to thank you all for sharing your experiences on your Fulbright journey. The kindness and consideration people have shown to each other, and to future Fulbright applicants, despite the potential for competitiveness is a great testament to the solidarity of this particular community. I am very grateful for people's generosity and openness, and for the work everyone has put into updating the Google Doc and keeping records. Thank you all.
As for myself, I am on the other side of the Fulbright equation, having applied to carry out research in the US next year. Last year's candidates found out before St Patrick's Day, so I am a little bit beside myself with nerves at this point.
Best of luck to all those who will be scattering to the four winds on Fulbright awards! And fingers crossed for those awaiting news still.

This process is breaking my brain.
I'm waiting on another fellowship from a European country that notifies in April, and I literally just thought "So is it April in Europe yet?"
I am actually getting dumber while I wait.

I go to Truman, a small state school in Missouri, and of our 9 ETA semifinalists, 8 of us are finalists and the 9th is an alternate! We are all overjoyed and can't believe our good luck!
FOUR to Spain (including me), one to South Africa, one to Korea, one to Georgia, one to Nepal, and an alternate for Colombia. I'm a very proud Bulldog today!
