@Theo20 Yes it will not add a new cultural education or perspective for South East Asians.. Singapore is still part of the wide Malay culture which is common throughout Malaysia-Indonesia-Thailand and encompassing most of the South East Asia.. A US or European education will definitely add some more colors in terms of experiencing a new culture and conduct of day to day matters.. However apart from that NUS is ranked No. 1 in Asia and among top 20 - 30 universities of the world.. So it will definitely give a boast to one's career even if you go back to Jakarta..

I did apply because of the reputation of NUS and also coz it is in Singapore... Better Job prospects (may be)

@mang12 I was informed last week about the result... Did you also apply for MMSc program? Have you received any information regarding the result?

@geologyninja13 thank you so much for these really beneficial comments and suggestions... Yes Asian Studies is new for me, my interest was developed due to frequent visit to South East Asia and visiting the magical ancient sites and meeting some really wonderful people... Yes I had now decided to give up the dream of attending the SOAS (A Dream that Gone Sore)))).. I knocked many doors to avail some Tuition reduction but to vain.. I had decided to accept Waterloo.. and will see if sometime in future I could afford SOAS...

Thank you very much for this kind reply. I am sorry for late response. SOAS is School of Oriental & African Studies, University of London.. Main specialty is in languages and cultures of Asia.. My previous background is in business administration, finance and accounting.. I got admitted MA South East Asian Studies with particular emphasis on Indonesia.. The other offers are in Management Science and Economics, which are in Waterloo and The New School respectively.. SOAS offer the program which I am really interested... other two are something which can take me to a better job..

I sent an email and they replied today stating that applicants will get notified during April - May.....

No i wasn't..

OMG!! thank you so much for this wonderful chart... Yes finance is also one reason that is holding me back... If the Tuition was not too high then I would have gone for what I truly want...
