  1. GRE Score: 1420 (770Q/650V 5.0) GPA: 3.6 (in last two years of school...I had an 8 year break in the middle of undergrad) Work Experience: 7 years working in student-oriented travel, other work whilst in school Undergrad Institution(Public, Private, Ivy, etc..): Large "Public Ivy" Research Experience: 2 years, but not related to education, current Fulbright Applying for PhD or Masters: Masters Program: Higher Education Administration What Schools Are You Applying To: GWU, Northwestern, Indiana U, HGSE, UMichigan, Michigan State, NYU, Columbia, UNC Greensboro, Penn State, UPenn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt (Yes, I know I went a bit overboard, but I have a non-traditional profile, and wasn't sure how I would be perceived) Acceptances: 10/10. I have been accepted to all schools except Columbia, Michigan State and HGSE. I have not yet heard from these three schools.
  2. Where did you end up going?
  3. For now I'm leaning towards higher ed. I'd place NYU as my top choice at the moment, so I'll really start making decisions once I hear from them.
  4. Howdy! I've also applied to HEA masters programs. I went a little overboard and applied to 13(!) programs. So far I've heard from six and have gotten in to all of them. I submitted all of my applications back in October, but one of my professors took a little while to get her LOR in, so I know many of my applications weren't fully complete and ready for review until late Dec/early Jan. Here's where I stand so far: George Washington University - ACCEPTED - heard from them super early -- way back on Nov 20 Indiana University - ACCEPTED - Dec 9 Vanderbilt University - ACCEPTED - Jan 20 Northwestern University - ACCEPTED - Jan 22 University of Pennsylvania - ACCEPTED - Jan 27 University of Tennessee - ACCEPTED - Feb 2 Still Waiting: Harvard University Michigan State University University of Michigan Columbia University New York University University of North Carolina Greensboro Penn State University Excited that the news has been overwhelmingly good so far, but still waiting to hear back from my top choice or two. Fingers crossed!
  5. I had this exchange with Cara today via email: "I was wondering if you might be able to provide any information about the status of Fulbright decisions for the Kyrgyz Republic? Any news or idea about the time frame would be immensely helpful." "I am still waiting on FSB approval on Kyrgyz Republic. I am not sure when this will come in and I can’t predict when the clearances will happen, but I promise that the letters will go out as soon as possible once I receive the green light from DC. Sit tight…and thanks for your patience!" "Just a point of clarification...does that mean that you've received the selections from the Kyrgyz committee, but are just waiting for the FSB?" "Exactly. Country Selections are in (for all of Central Asia, actually) and FSB just needs to give me the green light on the applications. Ocne this happens, I can send out the letters to you all. Hoping it will be sooner rather than later."
