Sounds like you're in the clear.
Ever since the interview yesterday my Visa Status says Administrative Processing though. That is what has me worried?.

Hi. I applied for F1 to do my PhD in Chemistry. At the end of the interview she told me I will have to go through Administrative Processing and I should get my Visa the following week. She did not issue me a 221g slip nor request additional info. She just kept my passport and I20. Should I be concerned?

Anyone here with a full assistantship and had a visa interview? Did they require showing additional funding even though all your finances will be covered by the school?

Sup friends!
Has anyone got the acceptance from UT Austin? Got my interview three weeks ago, but I still did not get anything.UIC sent me an admission recommentation from the department two weeks ago. However they told, that the office of admissions & records would confirm my admission by a separate email. Is it normal, that the official confirmation comes in a weeks? April is coming, I'm a little worried.
That is normal.

If I get a full teaching assistantship (tuition and stipend) from a university, does that mean I have to apply for a J-1 visa?

Just went to check the UCF application portal for updates and received the rejection. Congrats to those who got admitted!

I had the same thing happen to me too. They reached out to tell me they were interested in my research experience, but that they had not made the decision to accept me yet. I don't know if it means anything, but i have been invited to interview at that school
I received an invitation to interview the following day!

Checked the website of the University at Buffalo and found that I've been admitted to the program (the status changed today after business hours), but received no e-mail. Maybe I'll hear from them tomorrow? I'm worried about financial aid though since the website does not mention any assistantship.
Congrats! That is a good school and good location. I do recall reading that stipends and tuition assistantships are available. Your stipend should go far in that location. https://chemistry.buffalo.edu/graduate/financial-support/

My University of Maryland (chemistry, inorganic) app status changed from “under departmental review” to “under graduate school review”... is this a good sign or bad sign? I submitted my app back in late November.
It means the department recommended you for admission. Congrats!

@PhD_hopeful_ and @samman1994 I'm not completely sure what your experiences mean but they definitely don't sound like a bad thing! It sounds like in both your cases that you are seriously being considered for acceptance but just haven't formally been accepted yet.

Thanks for your feedback. Fingers crossed!

Why would a member of the graduate committee contact you to let you know they are reviewing your application and talk about their research and state they are open to questions regardless if you choose their lab or not? Would this mean my application is favorable or am I reading too much into this?

Anyone moving to Miami for Fall 2018?

I want to go into bioanalytical specifically with LC-MS in the biotech environment. I've been out of school for six years now so it's narrowed down my view haha.
Sounds interesting indeed. My graduate degree was biotech in nature and I totally enjoyed working with LC-MS. I guess we are working in the reverse of each other lol. Me starting out in biotech and moving to forensic and you starting in forensic and moving into biotech. Hahaha!

Congrats! That's a program I looked at myself since my undergrad is in Forensic Chem, before I decided to go a different direction.
Thanks! What direction you taking now?

Is it possible to obtain an acceptance before a school's deadline for application?

Hi. Just wanted to start a conversation about the universities that have finished sending acceptances and invitations for interview for Chemistry PhD. Feel free to add to the conversation what you know.

Just got into UC Berkeley for Organic! Cannot believe it!
The e-mail says "By this time, you should have been contacted by a member of Chemistry's admission's committee" but this has not happened haha. Should I e-mail the person back saying this hasn't happened? Or is there no point?
Congratulations!

I think this question may be better asked in the chemistry forum... They'll be able to tell you how much a quant score usually matters for admission. We're psychology
My apologies. Thanks for the heads up!
