Hello all, I have been given an offer to study an MPhil in American history. I have a quick question regarding my research proposal- must it be what I ultimately pursue at Cambridge? Since my submission, my interests within the field have changed a bit, and I would like to pursue a new potential dissertation topic (within American History, of course).

Hello all- not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I figured that I would give it a shot. I am an applicant to Cambridge's MPhil American History program. I initially applied in early october, and my online status said "awaiting review by department," or something along those lines. Now, my status says "under review by the degree committee." Does this mean anything? Are decisions typically rolling? Has anyone else who's applied for the American History program heard back yet?

Interesting- thanks for the reply. This is odd because I was fairly certain that I'd at least receive an offer of admission from Cambridge, considering my stats. I know that people applying for MPhil in History typically don't get responses until January (not considering the GC process). I assume they speed up their considerations if an applicant has indicated interest in GC?

Hi all- in order to receive a GC interview, must you first receive an official offer from Cambridge? My application is "under review by the degree committee," and I'm not sure what this means. I applied for MPhil in History in early october, and I haven't heard anything since.
