  1. Yes received an email this afternoon specifically about merit scholarships. Did not get one, but congrats to those who did!
  2. Has anyone been in touch with the financial aid department recently? Any indication of when more info on aid/merit scholarships might be released (outside of Urban Scholars)? I remember reading that students got such info around this week last year, so I am hoping that we hear something soon!
  3. Housing Virtual session is up and running
  4. Yeah I imagine the webinar is postponed since "all events and activities" are canceled according to the website. Still worth double-checking at 8pm EST I suppose!
  5. I'm curious about this as well! I don't know if HGSE just has a better PR team, but at least virtually it seems to emphasize a more close-knit community. I'm working abroad and will be unable to visit so would love to hear from people who have actually been on campus or talked to students!
  6. Sharing stats as well, because I know I was curious for such info this fall when I was applying! Best of luck to anyone reading this in the future. Admitted to Language and Literacy M.Ed. Program Age: 24 Undergraduate GPA: 3.90 (Secondary Ed and English Literature majors) GRE: 165 V, 160 Q, 5.5 AW Professional background: 3 years of teaching full-time (two years through TFA, one year teaching ESL in South America)
  7. I don't think you have to accept in order to set up your key, because even the link to the "Admitted Student Events" is not working at the moment. Probably just a glitch that will be resolved at some point soon.
  8. Accepted to the Language and Literacy program! Excited to meet others who are attending
  9. Still nothing. Anyone else still waiting? Confused by the above posts haha
  10. Have others outside of the Educational Leadership program gotten phone calls already as well? Making me nervous!
  11. Got it, good to know. Thanks for the info!
  12. Does anyone know if, in the past, an indication of a merit-based grant award has been included in the notification letters? Or have these always been separate, later on? (I definitely do not want to get any hopes up for even an acceptance, but I would be anxious to compare the costs with other schools.) Edit: I ask because I read someone saying financial aid details came later in March last year. Curious if that applies for merit aid scholarships as well.
  13. Just to confirm -- applicants to the master's programs are not expecting to hear anything until March, right?
  14. Yes it makes sense that each program would have some different procedures for admissions, so I am sure it is nothing to be worried about! P.S. you're right haha -- waiting almost three months was no fun at all!
  15. Congrats on the interview! I did not have one but I am sure it is a good sign that they would like to hear more from you. To answer your question, my app was marked ready for review on Nov 14th and I received an email about a decision update on Feb 5th. Accepted into the reading/writing/literacy master's program! So, don't worry if it takes longer than the expected 4-6 weeks!
