  1. Yall. I'm a "very high alternate" at both schools I interviewed at. I'm so proud of myself for making it this far and to be so highly ranked on the waitlist but I. WANT. TO. GET. IN!!! This is my second year applying and I had no interviews last year (I pumped my GRE scores up this year).

It's so crazy to think that every day that passes could be the day that the people holding onto the offers decide, therefore initiating this acceptance domino effect.

If you're lucky enough to be sitting with multiple acceptances, godspeed! May your other acceptances look more enticing than the offers from the schools I'm waitlisted at ??

So from the mail I got from UMSL, They had 160 applications and they're filling 5 slots. If they interview 3 students for each slot, we're looking at 15. If they interview 5 for each slot, you're looking at 25 persons.

    P.S: I didn't get an interview.

Do you mind messaging me this info copied & pasted from the mail? I haven't seen this info anywhere so I'm intrigued! Thank you :)

Just interviewed at UMSL. They told us they received approximately 175 applications (IIRC) this year and are interviewing less than 40. - I would assume that's how many accepted interivews; not sure how many they extended or if that's actually how many. Their first interview day was Monday (1/28) and their next is this weekend.

Awesome thank you!! I'm interviewing on Friday. Did they mention how many slots they're filling this year?

  4. Hey yall! Does anyone have any information about how many applications University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) received this year for their Clinical Psych Ph.D. program? Or how many interview slots were extended? (I don't see any admissions info online for any year)

And what about for University of South Alabama's Clinical-Counseling Psych Ph.D. program?

Just a first-time interviewer tryna see her odds. Thank you!!

Anyone heard from SMU yet? They’re interview day is 1/25. Is it appropriate if I email POI to ask whether the invitation has been sent out? Had applied to 10 schools with 1 rejection. Nervous to death now.

Have you gotten any feedback about this? I'm also wondering if the department has made interview decisions.

SO excited. Second timer here!! PM me for POI details.

  7. Hi all! Attempting the application cycle for a second time this year.. *DEEP BREATH*!

I'm applying to Clinical Psychology Ph.D. programs with a Child focus, with POIs researching child maltreatment/family violence/risk and resilience factors.

I'm not a great standardized test taker, especially one that gives you less than 2 minutes to answer every question (AHEM. GRE). My GRE Quant score last year was bad, and when applying I knew I was taking a gamble. Scores were: V 155, Q 147, AW: 4.0. I re-took the GRE this summer and scored: V 154, Q 155, AW: 5.0. I'm really proud of my percentile increases for Q (26th to 58th) and AW (59th to 92nd) but unfortunately dropping that one point for V brought me from 69th percentile to 65th.

Here's where I need some advice:

I'm planning on re-applying to some of the same schools as I applied to last year, in addition to some new schools I've never applied to before.

Re: the schools I'm applying to for a second time: Should I opt for the Score Select option and send the schools my scores from both of the test dates in order to show them my improvement from my application last year?

And re: the schools I'm applying to for the first time: Should I just send my most recent (mostly better, minus the V 1 point/4% drop) scores? Or should I send both test dates' scores? I want them to see that I've scored in the 69th percentile on Verbal, but also that the scores for Q and AW for my second test improved.

AH! Please give me some advice lol. I have two apps due 11/15 and the rest are December dates. Thank you!
