  1. @mariahjewelalanis thank you! They sent an email last Tuesday. It looks like they sent decisions to PhD applicants two Fridays ago and MA applicants last Tuesday.
  2. I’m going to NYU for their Masters in PS. Relieved that the process has ended for this year and that I won’t have to apply again until the Fall.
  3. @Seraphaun I’m sorry to hear that! Where did you hear back Tisch, i haven’t heard.
  4. @Seraphaun Tisch won’t get back to anyone until at least March 8th. More like March 15th or later. Applications weren’t due until 1/15 and Tisch is always among the last to get back to applicants. Are you applying for the MA or the PhD?
  5. @ubernerd yep it was very personalized, which was nice. I am still waiting to hear back from Columbia (expecting a rejection as it’s probably not a perfect fit research-wise) and NYU’s MA. This is my first round applying so I expected mostly rejections from the PhD programs, but I’m glad I at least got an interview in. Where else are you waiting to hear from?
  6. @ubernerd Congrats on these interviews! Sorry to hear about Brown. I’d hoped you would move on and tell me about this mysterious finalist process. But it sounds like you have lots to look forward to yay!
  7. Got an official rejection from Brown. Disappointed in how I performed during the interview. I think more thought-out answers about my project could have made a difference. Oh well! Hope others have moved forward!
  8. Hang in there. This is a tough time in the season. Based on what I’ve read in past PS threads, I bet positive news will come later in Feb/March. It’s tough to wait it out but there’s solidarity here!
  9. @ubernerd my interview was exactly the same. Definitely intimidating. All questions about my work (which I feel like I answered poorly, although they were good questions that I should think more about) and I was also surprised that there was another step in the process. I’m sure you did great though! Hope you get positive news from them this week!
  10. How did people’s Brown interviews go? Mine felt rough they really grilled me on my project and I sort of floundered through it. Hope others had a smoother time of it!
  11. @oppoffrown Thank you for the in-depth response!
  12. @oppoffrown that’s a really nice offer! Congratulations on all of your acceptances. Can I ask if Brown asked you to tie your work to the theatrical canon at all? My work is much more in the realm of performance studies/performance of everyday life than theatre studies, but I’ve heard Brown cares about whether your research ties into both. Also, more generally, what were the most unexpected questions you were asked, or questions you wished you had prepared for more thoroughly in advance?
  13. When is your Brown interview @ubernerd? Mine is late Friday afternoon. Did they say who you were interviewing with? I am just preparing to interview with anyone in the dept.
  14. If you do a results search you can see Berkeley PS has done a few interviews (and I have a friend who interviewed and was accepted), but don’t forget that sometimes schools do interviews and acceptances in rounds because not everyone they originally accept will necessarily take the offer. So you never know.
  15. My northwestern rejection was from the PS dept
