  1. Anyone on the Penn waitlist receive news?
  2. Hi BelleEpoque - thanks for that info! Do you know if that is in reference to the waitlist as well?
  3. I think Penn is over - their cohort was even smaller than Berkeley's this year; according to a Prof. I contacted, only 4 slots existed.
  4. would the other Penn wait lister mind PMing me about their field of concentration/POI? Just trying to get a sense of whether we are concentrated into one field or spread out across them.
  5. Hi everyone! Can the UPenn admit on the results page PM me regarding their POI, and whether they know anything else about the number of spots open etc.? Thanks!
  6. Hi everyone - can the Harvard waitlist poster elaborate? My status still says submitted (no change at all)? Have you received any information from the department at all? Just very confused about how this decision round is happening over there.
  7. Hi! I applied as a medievalist, looking at intercultural exchange between the Mediterranean and the Islamic world. There are a few pretty good programs, in my opinion. Did you apply this cycle already?
  8. I think the hope isn't unwarranted. The releases definitely do come in waves, firstly. I happen to know that Penn and Princeton won't be releasing until closer to the middle of the month (so why not also Harvard, right?), and the results page shows two Harvard admits - one who was unofficially notified (congrats!) and another that was probably a troll post on the 31st. Don't give up! And in any case, we'll know soon. I don't have any insight to UChicago, sorry, I didn't apply there.
  9. Thanks, lmenol. I took your advice and contacted the department by phone. For those who are wondering (and still somewhat hopeful), I was told official decisions will be released via email later this week.
  10. Hi - not to be ceaselessly annoying, but is there a sense of what the next 'few days' entails? So many of us are biting our nails, eagerly waiting for some movement on the results page, or a call from a 617 area code.
  11. thanks for the update! at least the wait will be over soon...
  12. Ditto. No word from Harvard here. The 31st seems early, given the last several years of data.
  13. Hi Noscrubs! Just a note to help you keep heart - and all those other Penn hopefuls out there - I contacted my POI at UPenn to ask about interviews. Apparently, they generally don't do them. Decisions should come out early to mid February.
  14. We're in this together. I second the info about JHU - faculty told me it's pretty much standard that shortlisted candidates get an interview. Not sure about Penn, though.
  15. Hi everyone! First time poster here Does anyone know whether Harvard typically does interviews? Also - I noticed on the Results page that UPenn offered an interview this year? Can the poster let us know if they provided any info in the interview about acceptance timeline, or the number of spots available this year? This waiting game is killer! First 10 days of February seem to be a typical time for Princeton and Harvard to release initial acceptances...
