  1. I'm not sure why the courses haven't been updated on ACORN, but the MHI website itself has a schedule laid out here: http://ihpme.utoronto.ca/academics/pp/mhi/handbook/timetables/ Part of me (... all of me) hopes this is not final. 6 1/2 hours between 3 hour classes on Wednesday... not to mention class at 9am Thursday the next morning. Really?
  2. Anyone hear anything about when we'll get a class schedule? Going to be travelling over the summer and need to arrange some things for the year so sooner is better for me ?
  3. Same here! I dropped off my signed offer in person because I happen to live fairly close and just wanted to make sure it actually got there, and Zoe mentioned that we'd hopefully learn more about what needed to happen next in the next couple weeks. Also, I know this isn't a research-based program, but did anyone happen to go to the IHPME Research Day last week? It sounded quite interesting but I had a different work-related symposium that week that I had to attend.
  4. I got an e-mail from admissions.sgs@utoronto.ca regarding something about a JOINid. Activate that and then you just use the same ID to access ACORN. I think my previous post suggested that the process for getting on ACORN was done automatically, which it wasn't. I just remember following the instructions to activate it because I got the email right as my application went through and my brain was just like 'uhhhhhhh sure, I guess activating something would be important', so sorry for any confusion!
  5. To add to this, they have a timetable for current students at http://ihpme.utoronto.ca/academics/pp/mhi/handbook/timetables/, and I imagine next year will be similar (at least I hope so, a Friday off never hurt anyone!). Also I would be inclined to follow-up if you can't get into ACORN at this point, I've been able to access the system after applying since mid February (though of course nothing showed up until being accepted).
  6. Anyone that is considering UofT have any insight regarding working while you're in the program (non-executive stream)? The FAQs section of their website seems to really suggest we don't... and while I could probably get away with not working for a year, I would prefer to.
  7. Thank you very much (and congrats to you as well)! At this moment I am leaning more towards UofT. Everyone in this thread has been a great source of comfort in these past 2 months of sustained panic, so I hope I get to meet some of you soon!
  8. Looks like the second day of offers is rolling out, received an email offer from Zoe this morning Guess I have a lot of decision-making to do this weekend!
  9. I got a similar vibe from Waterloo; they didn't say much about UofT but did say they had a relatively greater emphasis on the engineering and design behind information systems. For the curious, if you take a look at the course calendars for both programs and you can definitely see it there as well. UofT has a few courses that relate more to project management, and Waterloo has some room for electives and a lot of options are of statistics/comp sci related. http://ihpme.utoronto.ca/academics/pp/mhi/handbook/timetables/ https://uwaterloo.ca/public-health-and-health-systems/future-graduate-students/professional-programs/master-health-informatics/curriculum
  10. Congratulations to everyone with the good news so far! Time for me to start mindlessly refreshing the SGS portal and my e-mail D':
  11. Yes! I've actually accepted my offer to Waterloo already (and for a variety of reasons am currently leaning ever-so-slightly toward their all-online format... though the networking at UofT would be excellent) but I really wish I could get some closure from UofT after going through the somewhat daunting interview process. Waterloo wouldn't extend my decision deadline :\ The sooner I get more details from UofT the sooner I can sort out living/work/general life stuff that will influence my decision quite a bit. Super nervous.
  12. It appears based on a previous post (quoted below) that '35 get in' actually means that's about how many people actually accept their offers and register? At least I hope so, because that would mean they invite more people than that and I imagine many applicants are applying to multiple programs/schools.
  13. Just hold tight! They did just finish interviews late last week, so between that and what Zoe told me about the end of the month, I don't think it's worth too much of your time to worry too much about it for at least the next week or two. Best of luck!
  14. For UofT? Nothing yet o_o I was told end of April was when I should be expecting anything at all. I did get an acceptance from Waterloo MHI, and was waitlisted by Western MPH both in mid-March.
  15. The 15 is based off of Zoe mentioning the number of applicants scheduled for the day when I asked. You're probably right about not interviewing *that* many people. I imagine they probably had less on some days and perhaps none on others (I can't see the interviewers being able to dedicate 2 consecutive workweeks to just interviews...).
  16. I can't imagine it will go past that (almost certainly done by the 13th...). It sounds like interviews started on the 4th, and apparently they were doing somewhere in the ballpark of 15 applicants per day for interviews. Maybe I'm just doing some wishful thinking because the sooner they finish the sooner (hopefully) they decide! Anyway, had my interview earlier this week and I will echo the sentiments that they're flexible on the presentation timeline (I am 100% sure I pushed it by accident, but it seemed fine). I don't think the written task was difficult at all. In fact, I did it in the same room with someone else in the same timeslot (we got different questions) and we both finished before the time limit. Everyone was very nice, I was a nervous wreck going in but left feeling O.K. Best of luck to everyone yet to go!
  17. Anyone with an offer to MHI for Waterloo received any information (either positive or negative) about the possibility of an extension to accept an offer? My offer states I need to decide by sometime next week but I am still waiting on a few job prospects and schools... I know we can technically accept now and then reject later but I want to avoid that
  18. Oh man, I haven't heard from one of my schools at all yet and have an interview with another *after* that time. Well, this will be fun to sort through... thanks for the info!
  19. Just checked my Waterloo status on Quest on a whim and noticed I've received an admission as well! I am surprised they didn't send an e-mail out telling me to check or anything (honestly if I wasn't bored out of my mind this evening I would've missed it....) but I'm pleased nonetheless. Does anyone else see when we have to respond by? I am considering the program but would much rather hear from other programs/jobs before accepting anything.
  20. yes, actually! I have an interview for the 10th. I had called Zoe during a particularly anxious moment in my day before I received the e-mail, and she said they'll continue to send out notifications throughout this week. hope they get to you soon with good news!
  21. Same D: FWIW I submitted everything just under a week before the deadline
  22. You saved me from a weekend of moping. Thanks for the info!
  23. Nice! Good luck to all of you! Haven't heard anything from them yet.
  24. Managed to hold off the panic until this week, when historically the programs I applied to usually start sending out some sort of interview invite or update of any kind. I'm a mess and no news so far x-x
