Final Decisions / Accepting Offers Fall 2018!
philosobro replied to SlumberingTrout's topic in Philosophy
Accepted Harvard's! Declined Brown Cornell Northwestern UPenn UC Berkeley. -
Yeah, I am in a similar boat. I am not sure if Harvard is the best place to work on the political issues I am interested in. The visit is going to play a big role in my decision. Chicago seems particularly good for what you want to do.
-
Not Harvard? I am split between Harvard and Berkeley.
-
In at Johns Hopkins. Will turn down offer sometime next week once i get back all my decisions.
-
What was your sample on?
-
Sorry! Was it a generic email?
-
Yes, Princeton, NYU, and Chapel Hill. But I am strongly leaning Harvard.
-
We actually may both be right. The visit days are 19th-20th but it is recommended students come on the 18th and leave the 21st.
-
Yes, the visit days are March 19th-20th. I will actually be there for the last day. Great! Are you waiting for anymore schools?
-
Unfortunately, I will not be able to visit Harvard on the designated days Have you gotten word of funding yet?
-
Anyone heard from Princeton?
-
do you know when visitation days are for Harvard?
-
In at Cornell!
-
My AOI are metaphysics and political philosophy. Most of my research as an undergrad have been in metaphysics. But in grad school I wanna do more poli philosophy specifically constitutional law, jurisprudence, human rights and citizenship.
-
Harvard right now. Still waiting to hear from a few more places.
-
In at Harvard. Acceptances: Berkeley, Brown, UPenn, Harvard Waitlist: Northwestern Rejected: Yale, UCLA, Chicago, Michigan
-
I know via a very reliable source that all acceptances have been sent out from UCLA. They have not sent out waitlists yet. But if you have not heard back yet then you were not accepted.
-
This year many schools are sending the decisions later than usual.
-
What are your areas of interest? Northwestern admits students off waitlist based on areas of interest.
-
When a decision is made on an application and the school in question using applyweb, there will be a new column that comes up in your application. The new column will be above the column that says checklist. If the school has not sent out your decision then you will not see this new column. Anyways, schools will get back to you in some fashion. I know it seems they wont but they will. Checking your application over and over is a waste of your time and mental energy.
