  1. I found out today that my cohort is only 3 other students. Is this normal? What is the average size of a comp lit program (per year)?
  2. I spent a summer there and it was awesome. I really enjoyed the campus and the city of Chicago also seemed to have something new to offer every day. I hope you like it when you visit! Right now, I'm stressing over living situation. Are you planning on living in Hyde Park or further north?

I'm dealing with the same issue. I spent a summer in a program for UChicago and I loved it! But what I mostly loved was that I spent most of my time in Logan Square, Pilsen, Wicker Park, etc. instead of Hyde Park—which gets so boring. I'm mostly worried about commute (especially in the winters) if I choose to live further up.
  4. Hi! Comparative Literature here, but I'll also be attending UChicago this fall. Are you planning on visiting/have you visited the campus yet?
  5. I got an email from Brown today so I don't think they are closed.
  6. Yeah, I honestly think it's fine as long as you've seen other people getting notified. I hope your other five schools give you good news! It's always rough when the first one is a rejection. Yes, one acceptance from UChicago, which was in my top. Definitely really grateful for that.
  7. Heard back from the other 2 schools I emailed. UPenn is a rejection, unfortunately. That one really stings. Brown gave me a strange response. First someone told me that all decisions had been given out on Friday and that it was strange I hadn't been notified. The email was then forwarded to someone else in the department who told me that my application was still under review. Some weird waitlist situation? Not sure how to read into that one. It's honestly been very helpful to just straight out ask schools what's up, especially if there's been a lot of activity pertaining their program on the results page. I hope everyone hears soon (with good news!).
  8. I hope you hear back soon. I think Thursday and Friday will be a big day for notifications.
  9. @Daenerys So far only heard back from NYU that said that nothing was finalized and that official letter will be out mid march. Kind of disappointing especially since people applying to that program got interviews last week /:
  10. I feel you. Earlier today, I ended up just biting the bullet and emailing them for updates.
  11. I feel you. Going through the same thing. Like it's wonderful to have an acceptance (congratulations to you, by the way), but I'm just constantly feeling uneasy and anxious about my other schools (three pending). I just want them to update me !!
  12. You're always giving me hope on this thread! I hope so too. Hope your interview goes well!
  13. @DatGuy @jshaarawi Congratulations !! I know how nerve wrecking this week has been so that email must have been a great ending to the week. Good luck ! Still haven't received anything from Penn ): ... I'm guessing this is an implied rejection if I haven't gotten anything by now. Happy for everyone that got an email though!
  14. @E-P Thanks for the insight! Do you mind if I ask what they responded?
  15. Thank you—you make some good points.
