@Alife hunter is being so strange! They sent out rejections/waitlist first and now it sounds like they sent some acceptances but I haven’t heard anything after my interview! Wonder if I should email them.

@abcdefghijklm yeah in an email it said we would hear from Yale on or before March 10. I’m expecring news tomorrow, eek!

@Tomcat I felt I did as well as I could have done, that day, as myself. If I’m not up to Yale standards or they’re curating a specific group of incoming grads and I don’t fit, at least I won’t be kicking myself that I could have prepared more or something. I felt a good flow during the presentation and enjoyed the question and answer section. I left feeling positive but not sure if I convinced them completely that I would be a good fit. Who knows! We’ll see.

I went to nyu as an undergrad and at the time undergrands and grads had a lot of overlap. Also my bf did his mfa at NYU so if anyone has any questions about the program/facilities let me know!

it wasn’t so bad! All the questions were pretty specific to my work so I felt o could answer them well.

@hoax yeah I got the same email, interviewing for sculpture. I thought the wording made it seem like 10 photos of 10 new works were expected but maybe I’m just freaking out too much!

@charoarte Hunter sent me the interview info last night at 11:30 pm hah. Did you get it? What do you think of the requirement to bring 10 photos of new work? That’s a lot! Also is the statement of purpose our artist statement we submitted in the application?

For sculpture I heard from a friend who went to Yale that there’s about double the applicants for sculpture as there are slots. I’m guessing 20-30 for the 10 sculpture slots? Probably the same goes for painting, 20 slots for 40-50 ish interviewees?

@Tomcat i only applied to Yale, Columbia and hunter and I have an interview at Yale and hunter. Assuming rejection from Columbia since I haven’t heard from them. im nervous too! At least you gave yourself lots of options. If Yale or hunter don’t work out for me I’m doin it all over again next year...

Hey all. I got an interview invitation for hunter for sculpture and I live in NY. But I was talking to my boyfriend who occasionally interviews people for a NY based MFA and he said that sometimes schools that don’t send rejections right away will do another round of interview invitations if the people they interview in the first round aren’t great. Who knows! I still haven’t heard anything from Columbia and people have had interview requests.
